Jamison A. Johnson, vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica, light percussion, bad jokes. Uses PRS Tremonti with Gibson pickups and Seymore Duncan pickups, Fender Delux, and Taylor acoustic guitar, Lee Oskar harmonica, Boss pedals, Joe Satriani 2x12 combo to upset the neighborhood.
Right now I am focusing on finishing my new project material and then creating my sophmore album with full instrumentation.
Hiring: I am currently taking applications for next year's paid positions on bass, drums, keyboard, strings, lead guitar, female vocals for both support and lead, and possibly a DJ with turn table and excellent mixing skills. I also am open to sax and percussionist. Preference will be given to local multi-instrumentalists and professionals with solid experience, credentials, and ability as musicians with a proven track record and references. Having both pro live and recording session players are also preferred.
Influences
All genres. Some common favs I listen to regularly are rock, pop, world, reggae, classical, jazz, and rap. I like blended styles and have a taste for the experimental.
In my song writing in general, I draw from Eve 6, Queens of the Stone Age, Beck, Creed, Weezer, Bob Marley, Audioslave, Neil Diamond, Shawn Mullins, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, U2, Beattles, Velvet Revolver, Puddle of Mudd, Cream, Johnny Cash, Jewel, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, American Hifi, Alice In Chains, Staind, Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, and Tom Petty just to name a few.
Lost and Found project is my softer edge demo project and excludes some of my harder edge material and all the fluff which paints a more raw and intimate picture.
Sounds Like
Rock, Alternative, Pop, AAA, Blues Rock, Unplugged and electric.
Common Artists I am compared to vocally are Bono of U2, Aaron Lewis of Staind, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden/Audioslave, Scott Stapp of Creed, Lane Staley of Alice In Chains, Darren Hayes of Savage Garden, John Mayer, and Josh Groban (when I sing Italian Arias). I can sing and I am influenced by styles from every genre...including also hip hop, soul, blues, country, world music, jazz, and reggae. When I work with different projects, I tend to blend and conform with that project as a new hyrbid separate from my own independent writing and inclinations as a solo artist. I am open to working on multiple projects.
Season's Greetings! "The Valley" is now available for order and would look fabulous in your Christmas stocking :-). New songs up too. Have a wonderful holiday!
Hey! Just wanted to take the time to drop by and say hi. I thought I'd go around and greet everyone I am privileged to have as a friend.
Feel free to drop by my page anytime and leave a comment or message. You can also find me on Facebook and Twitter there! I'm always on the lookout for meeting new people!
I'm never out of piss . . . I drink plenty of fluids - not all alcoholic - just most. Of course, vinegar is harder to find, but having an off colored aura helps immensely in this pursuit. I don't think I"ll ever run out of opinions; keeping my mouth shut is like asking a whore to keep her legs closed . . . damn near impossible, and much more free and breezy when open.
Glad you like my blogs. I will have a new one up as of tonight. They were only MIA, because I had an affair on myspace - had to mix things up a bit with facebook . . . luckily, myspace is on board for a threesome and the three of us have worked things out.
What's Up Jamison A. Johnson just wanted to slide by your House to see how you keep it & give some Grown Folks Love !!!!... Remember...For every minute U are angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness & anger is one letter short from Danger......
Life is a journey, not a lottery ticket. It doesn't matter what side of the tracks you were born on, all that matters is what side of the tracks you end up on.
