Weird...I remember when my folks were in their early forties--I thought they were so OLD. Now, I realize that though we all must travel through this life in our little suitcase bodies year after year, our souls are ageless and eternal. I am just ME inside my suitcase. Some people are born in Samsonite--I got the Kmart Special. But it's all good. The fabric is faded and frayed, I need a bit of duct tape 'round the edges and the lock broke years ago (which is not necessarily a bad thing!). Go ahead and rifle through the contents--there's some good stuff in there! Anyhoo, with the kids almost grown it's time to start planning the next leg of my trip. The suitcase might be a bit worn, but it's packed and good to go!

Homework, eh? Let's try some descriptive sensory stuff... I haven't been to the water in over a year. I miss it. Be my eyes and ears. ( Nose & throat need an HMO)
You need to go to the coast. You get in your car, and go. Now you are at the shore. Close your eyes....
You can hear.... (what else does it sound like?) You can smell.... ( sand? imaginary s'mores? ) You can taste... ( salty tears? fish? ) You can feel..... (sensory..skin centered, Open your eyes. What do you see? Describe it for me. All the colors, textures, all the comparisons.
(I'm getting out my blanket and waiting on the sand)
Hope you're doing well...perhaps even enjoying some summer. Looking forward to seeing you write again- maybe in the fall? Don't make me have to give you homework
I'm also on facebook if that is where you hang, my name makes me easy to find. I don't want to lose track of you Eve, I think our journey has just begun. Hugs and Love Kristaline
That's quite a nosey avatar, Eve, and I continue to wish you all full expedient recovery and continued HotPlay reveries!
The strike continues into week five, and now the city is looking very shabby, tempers are fraying... I may do another and very disgusting garbage blog at the end of the week, and I'll keep that objectionable sculpture suggestion in mind!
Hi Eve: Thanks for the comment-update. People are finally getting irate about the garbage piling up, so we'll see how it plays out. All the best to you with your nose surgery, and nope; Chris Martin is safe from my shit list, 'cause he's prodigiously talented. Parachutes is still my favorite Coldplay album... sublime! You know, Gwyneth is a good actress but she doesn't look so tough; you could probably take her in a winner-jump-Chris fight. (just heal up, first, yeah?)
Hi Eve: All is well up here, aside from a month long strike that has garbage piling up but not a lot of stink due to good Canadian behavior and cooler than seasonal weather... outdoors often and taking lots of pics. I hope you're doing well, too. xo, Rick
