Pop infused with indie sensibility. Salacious lyrics and haunting melodies. This is the music of The Soft Focus. Formed in the fall of 2008, Greg Frayne, Seamus James, Ben Batchelor, and James Kirby came together through a common love of psychedelic rock and indie pop. Influenced by bands like The Strokes, The Beatles, The Black Angels, and MGMT, they set out to make music that's as fun as it is smart. Poised to release their first EP, they've played at some of Denver's hottest venues. Their first single, 'Idle Minds' is a fresh take on the classic pop genre, while 'Hearth and Home' is more reminiscent of modern neo-psychedelia. Watch for them to make an appearance on the musical landscape of 2010.

Good stuff, S.! And I will be at Larimer on Sunday, and I think Elsbeth will come along. What are you doing the evening of the 4th? Post-family picnic, I'm not sure what I'm up to, but setting things on fire, or watching things explode could be nice... t.
We just wanted to say thanks for listening to our songs, and we appreciate you letting us know what you think! We've been getting a lot of support and it feels great.
Have you seen the video of our new song 'evil eye'? We can't wait to get a full band recording of that one. Also check out our video covering 'use somebody' by kings of leon, we're not a cover band by any means but its a very fun song to play. Anyway, thanks for the support, we will have more coming at you soon, media, shows, whatever, we're gonna be pushing it. Thanks for listening and being friends.
