Meet the Characters
Nicole Stevens: 16, abandoned after the untimely death of her parents. Resides in an abandoned school building on the outskirts of town. Nicole has plenty of potential but doesn't always put it to good use.
Karen Wilson: 27, new teacher in a new town; Karen is determined to make a difference in her classroom. Her students think otherwise.
Darren: Ward of the state, though they don't know it, Darren "saved" Nicole after her parents were killed by finding her shelter. He protects her at all costs.
Ray: A victim of child abuse, Ray ran away from home after meeting Darren at an afterschool basketball game. They've been friends, and roommates, ever since.
Stephanie: Thrown out of her house with a scarlet letter, Stephanie tries her best to adjust to a lower standard of living while being there for her best friend Nicole and keeping the others in check.
Tye: The silent voice of the group, Tye left his home after his mother remarried a man who wanted "his own family". He and Stephanie bond over their shared experiences and maintain rationality when the group's dynamics are chaotic.
Skye: Nicole's polar opposite, Skye is the daughter of a drug addict who lives on the bad side of town. Her vendetta against Nicole stems from a deep seated jealously; that is she can never have what Nicole has. Little does Skye know that Nicole's life is not much different from her own.
Gary: Karen Wilson's long-time boyfriend. An architect from Karen's hometown who visits often. He's concerned about Karen's transition to a new place and her relationship with her mother.
Diane: Karen's mother, adopted her at a young age after her birth mother committed suicide.
Tracey West: Principal of Tigris High School. Overworked, underpaid and over fatigued, Principal West tries her best to keep the school and her sanity up to par.
Pat Brendan: Diane's sister and Karen's Aunt and Godmother. Pat keeps a close watch over Karen, treating her like her own daughter.

About me: A young girl gets her world turned upside down and must rediscover it in the heart of another . . . The last thing Nicole Stevens expected was to wake up in an abandoned school building on the wrong side of town. Yet after a drunk driving accident kills her parents, thats exactly where she finds herself. The Frame is a dramatic piece that tests the power of love and family. We follow Nicole through her junior year of high school dealing with the death of her parents, her seemingly hopeless living situation, and her battle against a fatalistic view of the future. Her situation seems hopeless until Karen Wilson, a new teacher, stumbles into her life, but will Karen's compassion be enough to pull Nicole up the high road and save her from a harsher reality?
