I'm endearingly nerdy, abnormally patient, brutally honest and extremely sarcastic. My sense of humor is typically dry and off color. I'm a bone collector. I believe in Karma... but above all, I'm an Artist.
My dreamlike and surreal work is a fusion of personal experience and influence created though a partially intuitive process which mines my subconscious and the human collective memory. Amorphous wash applications and the sinuous grain of the wood panels I often paint upon combine to provide an open field for viewer cloudreading. However, my process of nearly automatic drawing gently focuses meaning in her pieces. My work is rich with timeless visual elements, moody atmospheres, and the romantic narrative subtext of a 19th century Symbolist expressed uniquely in the diverse international context of contemporary art.
To the gents: sorry kids, I'm not available... I've already found my rockstar. ;)
Who I'd like to meet: Those who are challenging intellectually and not intellectually challenged. Anyone with similar interests, or an appreciation for the arts, music, photography, etc. Anyone who isn't afraid to be brutally honest. Those who are not intentionally condescending. Someone who can make me laugh. Anyone who would die for those they care for. No fair-weather friends.
*******
Oh, and I'm not huge on people who are *pathological liars*, *full of themselves* or *riddled with drama* ... so please leave your self-centeredness and bullshit at home. K thanks. :)
But for real... I'd love to pick the brains of Damien Hurst, Michael Hussar, Mark Ryden, Ray Caesar, Tim Burton, Matthew Barney... there are oodles more...
I'm also constantly looking for models to paint... if you live in the Orlando area, or don't mind emailing photos, I'd probably love to paint you! ;)
hey! thanks for the comment. :) Those 3 "nature" paintings were from last semester (so the oil paintings are finally dry, lol) and i really enjoyed doing them. I think I have come to enjoy smaller oil paintings. I'm not too into the larger scale ones. I think it's because I like detail.
So anyway, I'm also thinking about transfering to UCF next year. I still have to talk to an academic counselor at UNF, but Justin and I really want to move back to the central Florida area, so I would need to finish up at UCF. I hope I can.
I haven't talked to you in forever, how is everything? I was looking at your art photos yesterday and I didn't see anything new! You must be really, really busy if there are no new paintings on there! lol.
Hey girly! TY so much for coming to visit us in the hospital. We're gonna plan a after-baby shower for sometime after the first of the year (since it's so last minute with the holidays coming up)....so will let you know when that's going to be :-)
he is just so happy he can do all of these new things (like standing) that he has to do it all the time! yesterday he stood up while eating so he could watch matt play video games! : )
