Above all... my mother and my grandmother have been incredible influences in my life. They taught me about the strength of kindness and gave me the gift of simple happiness.
In the beginning...
When I was five, my mom took me to see the Nutcracker ballet and I was hooked. I was in love with the beautiful dancers, the stage, the storyline and the fabulous costumes. I knew I had to dance. So I relentlessly begged my mother to take me out of organ lessons and put me in a ballet school... I was in heaven... until puberty hit. Now I needed something more, I needed strong beats and catchy lyrics, I needed sweet rhythms and singable hooks, I needed Madonna, Kylie, Michael and I needed to go back in time and visit Donna!
What happened next...
My suitcase became well used... I left home at 18 to sing and dance in any show I could find. From Princess Cruises in the Bahamas, to Tokyo Disneyland in Japan, with a few movies and commercials thrown in between, I sang and danced my butt off. Then one day I needed something more. I was tired of singing back up and dancing in the chorus. I no longer wanted to be a character at a theme park with CanCan girls dancing around me. I heard the call of disco past... and I answered it! I started writing everyday about anything and everything in my life and when I finally got back home to Vancouver, I found a producer who helped me make my first song.
And now...
My first single "Revel in Love" hit number 1 on Billboard station C89.5fm in Seattle and received airplay across Canada. I've toured in China, Europe and for our troops in Kabul, Afghanistan then broke out my glam to dance with super hottie Carmen Electra in the MTV Movie "Monster Island". My second single "Heart of Glass (la da dee)" hit number 2 and became a popular club track. But... what Im really excited about, is the new "Typical Girl" album. The single "Typical Girl" has already been picked up by the Reality TV show 'Chris & Johns Road Trip!' the comedy TV show 'AfterDark' and has just been place in the CTV series "Robson Arms'. Now... bring it on world, I'm ready to rule!
