I'm currently unemployed at no fault of my own. The job I had for the past 7 years with the USGS did not receive funding to continue research this year, on Gulf Sturgeon.
So I'm hoping to take on more paying photo gigs now to pay my bills. If you are interested please send me an email to discuss the details.
In the past, I've given away THOUSANDS of dollars of my photography work out of my own kindness for band releases, record label use, website use, magazines, newspapers and etc.
Now I need help in return. I never thought it would come to this but it has. If I ever gave you photos or you enjoy my work please help me out now with a donation through PayPal HERE. Thank you.
MY PHOTO BLOGS:
I love feedback from you, especially if you are a photographer with similar interests.
I got my first camera when I was 6 years old from my grandfather. It forever changed my life and the way I see things. One of my all time favorite photos was taken on that old plastic camera.
This is my one true love that has never let me down. My constant inspiration and passion. I'm self taught with minimal photography classes taken only to learn wet lab, infrared, and extra photo skills like emulsion transfer.
I started taking live music photos when I was 14. Bowie was the first show I captured on a cheap point and shoot.
This is a lifetime hobby. My photos have been used in CD/LP releases, promotions, websites, newspapers, magazines and elsewhere. I've worked in a wet lab and in a photostudio. I've been hired for parties, shows, portraits, websites, CD artwork and more.
I sometimes take photos for my job. But I'm afraid that if I did this full time the passion would fade.
If you are interested in a photo shoot please contact me to discuss the details.
GEAR I USE:
I only take digital photos now. I don't like how film is bonded by gelatin, I like cows too much to use it. I worked in a wet lab for a while and will never do it again either. I like my lungs too much for that. Working in a photo studio is fun though, I miss all the lights and gear.
Sure, having a great camera can give you higher quality photos. But it doesn't make you a better photographer. I've found that it's your skill and experience that makes a good photo, not the camera.
Yup I got to see Davey Quinn quite a bit which is awesome since I love that guy. And never met Worn In Red until Tampa. Got to see them FOUR times and they're awesome dudes too! Counting duplicates I saw motherfucking 51 bands this year. My scheduling payed off for sure. I thought the total would be MAYBE 35!!!
Hell yeah Jana! I had a blast all weekend, but Friday night at Common Grounds took the cake. Now if Torche would only play Snowblind life would be complete.
haha yeah my gf's sharon tate...she was going to be pregnant with a knife sticking out of her stomach, but thought it might be a little too much.. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks Janna, We all really appreciate you catching both shows and snapping such bad ass pics. We will be playing g-ville as often as possible and can't wait for the next one which I believe is in December at the moment. We'll definitely keep you posted.
Really nice photos. I went over and checked them out will definatly go back to see more. And will tell my friends about your work. Have a Wonderful Day.
hey Jana, how are ya! You're one of the first non-band members to add us to your friends. Granted I haven't technically launched this Myspace account yet, it's mostly for our own reference at this point. But once we finally get some good demos recorded we'll promote it a little more. But we're happy to share the connection with you!
