A big thank you to Peter Strode and Perry Glover for paying £851 between them to Luton's Youth Scheme FOR THE RATHER ELEGANT WEMBLEY ROBIN RELIANT ON EBAY. Happy driving (if you can get it to start!)
Only now the Hatters’ ‘Song of the Season’ has been re-released with a Wembley twist to celebrate the club’s appearance at Wembley sung by Town fan Jane Ledsom and ably assisted by the Shouty Boys!
With the Hatters taking almost 40,000 fans to Wembley on 5th April for the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, it will be the largest gathering of Hatters in one place at one time in history and a record for any club at the new Wembley.
The club has gained support throughout the football world since its harsh treatment in 2008, with hundreds of thousands of fans from every club in England pledging their support in the Hatters’ fight against relegation.
Our song is uplifting and rousing: it guarantees to raise the hairs on the back of your neck! With a catchy chorus that has been sung at grounds around the country, it is becoming a true football anthem.
All profits go to the Youth Development Department at the club – whose Under 11’s beat Bayern Munich in the final to the win the Under 11 European Cup just a few weeks ago in a tournament that also included other football giants Manchester United and CSKA Moscow.
Learn the words, sing the song and help the Hatters get heard!
Available on iTunes now to download for 79p and soon on all other digital stores.
SEPTEMBER 2008
Jane's single release has been put on hold but for a very good reason.
She has ridden to the aid of her beloved football club Luton Town FC in their hour of need and together with her co-conspirators record label owner 'Mike Maslen' and her producer 'Steve Loveday' have produced a single to raise money for the club as well as it's profile and to help keep morale high from The Chairman through the Team and down to the Fans.
Jane and her seventh cavalry now need EVERYONE to get behind this, play it, buy it, talk about it, and hopefully LOVE IT.
The release of her single will follow the release of this product which will be available for download on I-Tunes on the 6th of October by which time she hopes that '30 Down to Zero' will have improved to at least 15 down to zero in points won by the team.
All at Halo, given that we are all football crazy are keeping our fingers crossed that this will be a really cool thing to do for the club and by playing it on this site we all will get an idea if you like it as well.
For those of you who want to buy a hard copy it will be initially available at the Luton Town FC Shop where all profits from sale will go to the club so we urge you to go to the shop after the 13th of September where it will be available, so all you Luton Town and Football Fans everyhwhere C'MON!!!!
More than perfect, well that’s a big claim but Halo Records reckon that this title fits young Jane really well. Great works, great voice, can act as well as sing and a dyed in the wool football fanatic who can discuss that subject as fluently as most men on the planet.
As a season ticket holder at Kenilworth Road, Luton, she has hardly missed a game both home and away for her beloved Luton Town FC. So given their fortunes this season she copes well with emotional roller coasters.
To kick start her career Jane studied drama at Warwick University. During this time she founded her own Theatre Company, won a prestigious drama award at the Edinburgh Festival and toured with the National Student Theatre Company.
Moving to live in London from her home town of Bedford, Jane continued to pursue her acting and singing and finally toured nationally with theatre groups and sung at Drury Lane as well as playing the title role in the independently produced film “The Housewife “.
Having included education as part her Warwick University degree Jane taught throughout to supplement her income and that would have been it except that one day Halo Records heard her sing on one of her promotional cd’s and in the immortal words of those two lovely football hero's Wright and Bright, and we quote “if she took a listen and saw the video and upon reflection she might possibly think that she could have done rather better than that”. We thought so, a good song, a good production team and a very good single debut followed, we always knew she’d be more than perfect.
A great debut single and an album to follow that will be a brilliant showcase for a real talent. Whether acting on stage or in film Jane is now at last moving her career in a direction that should show off all her considerable talents.
Produced by Steve Loveday and Mike Karl Maslen and ably assisted by Margo Buchanan and Dean Hussain (KT Tunstall’s vocal team and Sarah Brightman’s vocal team) she delivers a brilliant version of the song ‘More Than Perfect’ which says it all.
Release date to be set, national/regional radio to commence, the future will be bright for this girl of that there is no doubt. Single will be available on download (I-tunes, Napster) very soon, hard copy release date to be set.
Hello Jane.We even missed out on Europe in 1988 because of the ban on English clubs after the 1985 European Cup Final between Liverpool and Juventus. Did we ever receive compensation for that?
Congratulations on appearing at Wembley Jane. Thats something to treasure. Hope it brings you more success in the future. Have a great Easter weekend ! Cheers Bob
I only saw it on TV. Were you one of the lucky ones at Wembley Jane. Wonderfull day indeed and great football from both teams ! Next year the FA Cup ! Cheers Bob
