JL learned to play guitar in a California junior high school classroom. She became a performing folk musician in her teens, playing guitar and singing with her mother as a duo. Songwriting came naturally to her and she released her CD of original songs, "Ladies of My Family" (available on CD Baby).
These days, Janet plays dance gigs, folk gigs, Irish gigs, and jams with various folk. She plays guitar, mando, uke, some dobro, a smidgen of banjo, cajon, and she has a theremin. And sings too.
She says "the best of times is when she gets to play music with friends."
