JANINE JANSEN RECORDS FIRST EVER EXCLUSIVE CLASSICAL iTUNES SESSION
"Janine Jansen is the most exciting violinist of her generation - an artist for the iPod era."
Der Spiegel
Violinist Janine Jansen has created an exclusive download session EP for digital music audiences. The all-Bach programme called Live Session: Bach (Cat. No. 4780526) will be the first ever classical recording in the iTunes Sessions series. Janine Jansen has tailored the programme specifically for digital download by selecting powerful chamber pieces, having already proven that their combination of intimacy and immediacy is particularly appealing to the digital music audience.
Janine Jansen has been dubbed "Queen of the Downloads" (The Independent, UK) following the breakout success of her chamber-sized performance of The Four Seasons in 2005, which broke into the US Top 20 albums on iTunes, becoming that year’s top-selling digital classical album, and it remains a digital best-seller 3 years on. Her latest album Bach Inventions & Partita once again topped the iTunes classical charts around the world.
The digital success story of artists such as Janine Jansen illustrates a trail-blazing dynamic for marketing and selling classical music online. Janine’s prior recordings have already succeeded in building a digital audience beyond the traditional classical record buyer. The new recording Live Session: Bach presents a sensational new stride towards developing the audience even further.
The session also features Maxim Rysanov (viola) and Torleif Thedéen (cello), trio colleagues from Janine’s recent Bach album Inventions & Partita, and her father Jan Jansen on harpsichord, who played with Janine in her best-selling album The Four Seasons.

...an artist lively, fresh and intuitive: the young Dutch violinist Janine Jansen. Tension and yearning were spun into every note of her opening phrase in Bruchs concerto; her second phrase, effortlessly spanning the dynamic spectrum in a single breath, proved just as electrifying. The main theme itself quickly burst into flames, helped along by its moments of punchy double-stopping and aggressively dotted rhythms. Here was no hollow virtuoso display either: she was feeling this well-worn music deep in her heart. The adagio melody throbbed with hushed expectation before easing magically into balm. In the gypsy finale fingers flew, the knees bent, and at times she risked bowing her hair: but the outcome was dance and joy.

Thank you for the add !! Idiscovered the Britten Violin concerto via the Digital concert Hall of the Berliner Philarmoniker ! I LOVED both the interpretation of all the musicians and the work itself. I just bought the Cd but haven't listened to it yet. The way you speak and underline the importance of this work is really fresh. I really discovered this piece with great interest. Thank you so much for your enthousiasm ! Sincerely. LR
Leuk dat je me hebt toegevoegt!! Ik heb je heel lang geleden in 1997 in Utrecht zien spelen. Dat was op 2e kerstdag tijdens het kerstmatinee in Vredenburg. Succes verder! Groetjes, Martijn
Janine, THIS IS IT, I have ONE LAST have a favor to ask you about this, could I? Since, as you might’ve heard, my picture won at the monthly level & Round 1, I got nominated for the LongHair Hawtie of the Year Finals (!) that ends tomorrow (can you just get it done now?) and... - was hoping for those 6 votes from you ;)
So... this is where you would cast a vote. Yeah, you do need to get accepted as a friend of www.MySpace.com/OfficialLongHairHawties before you can vote, but they’re nice girls (the hawtie folks), no harm whatsoever :)
Thank you so much already, In appreciation, - Armand www.MySpace.com/ArmandVio7
PS. since it would be so cool to win ‘by a landslide’ of like 5-600+ votes OVER and ABOVE over #2 guy (who will give us run for the money, he’s done that before!) - so, an 'evil' thought - maybe you can tell your friends to vote too? ;) Could you ask around?
