I'm a Maine Mom who has venturned back into songwriting after many years of letting everything else take precedence, with the love and support of family and friends. I've garnered 2 "honorable mentions" in American Songwriter Magazine's lyric competition.
I entered the American Idol songwriting contest in April 2007 with "Ready for Today" - and was blessed with finding some wonderful and amazing new songwriting friends. Many of us had a chance to meet in October 2007 and it was everything I expected - an amazing, warm, wonderful meeting of similar souls whose passion begins with the music.
Shortly after that awesome experience, I was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML) and fought it for half a year. Now I'm in full remission and learning to appreciate every day.
Life is fleeting. Live it with your heart and soul. Don't take any hug, smile, or prayer for granted.
