Janis Kay is a vocalist, songwriter and executive producer on all her material, writing catchy R&B, hip hop, dance and disco house, as well as commercial pop.

Janis was part of a boy girl duo in the early 90’s who released “Look What We've Started” and “Gifted” followed by a cover of “The Only Way Is Up” (the Yazz classic) on President Records. In 2007 Janis released “Put Your Hands Together” and “Can U Feel the Fire” featuring Nevada on Exhibit Music, which can still be downloaded worldwide today.

She has also worked with Stephen Budd Management, producers Soul Power (who have worked with Brandy, Whitney Houston and Mary J Blige), Erick Eriksson (who Janis co-wrote Lutricia McNeal’s hit single “Stranded” with). She has also worked with producer Martin Ten-Velden on a disco house track. Janis was formerly co-managed by ex-Wham manager Simon Napier-Bell.

During this time she went on a huge tour of the UK, performing at nightclubs, schools and radio road shows for stations such as Heart 1.06FM. She also turned on the Christmas lights in Crawley and performed at London’s Capital Café in Leicester Square and Gay Pride with other major pop acts. She has also been interviewed and performed for TV including Men & Motors and Nickelodeon. Janis has also been commissioned to write songs for a feature film set to be released in August 2010.
