I was born in Stavanger Norway but, have spent most of my life in the USA. Raised in Seattle and starting my music career while attending Ballard High School in Seattle I now return to Norway at least once a year and travel around and film this beautiful country and create DVDs for my company Camelot Media. Kurtis became my stage name for many years but I proudly include my family name Jan K. Skugstad now. My career has carried me to many places Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Las Vegas and has taken me down many music roads from jazz, country, pop and rock. Recording and appearing with and for The Fleetwoods, Glen Campbell, Bobby Goldsboro, Ray Price. Ernest Tubb, Tommy Overstreet, Patsy Cline, Johnny Mathis, Mac Davis, Jerry Reed, The Golddiggers, Andy Griffith among a few and been a featured drummer with Bobby Goldsboro, Ray Price, Ernest Tubb (Grand Ol' Opry Nashville,TN)The Judy Lynn show, The Palomino Band ( North Hollywood)and have produced or recorded such music greats as Jazz greats John Coltrane, singer Joe Williams, comedian Dick Gregory, Country greats Ernest Tubb, Johnny Paycheck, Ray Price. Hello Jan. Good to hear from you, and thanx for the link. The cd is already ordered and penguins are really looking forward to hear the Camelot music from the 60's. Stavanger should be nice this time of the year, as you certainly know. Have a beer at Dickens for us! Penguins flying over to the UK in May for some Cavern gigs, and our cd is ready in a couple of weeks.
Hello Jan, how are you? After many wonderful, inspiring journeys, I am back on the island where we are having a very sweet springtime. The weather is hot and inviting and everywhere are tiny flowers lighting up the fields! I am also having a great time with my new cd and the videoclip... which are almost completed now, while I started the summer performances too, going on until November!
