From the early' 80, Jan Willem van Holland started off playing in several mainly cover bands such as T.E.B., The Faxx and Loaded; doing all kinds of music from rock artists/bands like Hendrix, The Tubes, 1994 (Karen Lawrence) , Herman Brood, Shocking Blue and others.
Influenced by great guitarist like Eric Clapton, Les Dudek , Dany Lademacher and David Hollestelle and the “Beano” album from John Mayall, he spend 24/7 to find out all the licks and tricks.
With the Amsterdam based soul/funk band " Dillon Extended" several demo’s were made and eventually followed by successful venue’s (in among other things), at the Paradiso concert hall Amsterdam and the Melkweg.
At a completely packed Paradiso Amsterdam, they did the support act on one of the last concerts of Johnny Guitar Watson, who sadly died three months later during a concert tour in Japan.
Some months after the Paradiso concert, Jan Willem played with Snowy White on the Flevo rock festival.
As a studio guitarist Jan Willem's first recordings were made during a project from the vocal group " Sakia and Serge" and he contributed thru the years as a freelance and casting guitarist many artists such as; Sita (video clip incorporated in France), Jive Jones (Top of the Pops - TMF awards / Pepsi Chart live both at the Ahoy Stadium Rotterdam), Reba McEntire , Judith , Patricia Kaas (RTL Dutch Broadcast), Peter Schoemaker (various albums) and others.
Beside playing in the Netherlands, venue’s over in Germany (from "Quasimodo" up to the "Bierkeller"), England,France and Portugal have been done, with serveral bands and artists.
In Portugal Jan Willem met Kenny Dene. This bass player / entertainer used to be the former bass player of " Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders", which resulted in playing golden oldies in Portugal.
In 2005, Jan Willem wrote the movie sound track and music for " the Dionsche dans" from Leon van Raaij. As a producer/technician for the " I.D.studio' s Utrecht" he recorded a large scale of artists, from Ska to rock, up to Latin and sing a song writers.
During that period, Jan Willem has been the sound engineer /producer for the Dutch pop "idols" television program" “Doe je Ding".
