A collection of high school teenagers assembled themselves into Janysium, an outfit that attracted attention from Keith Goodwin (press agent for Yes, Rod Argent, Marillion, etc.) and a nod of approval from Phil Collins of Genesis. Indeed, Mrs. Collins passed on their demo to a record company on behalf of her famous son. That demo had been recorded when the band's average age was a tender 17 years old.
Soon after the two main members, Peter Matuchniak and Simon Strevens, merged forces with other high school friends to form Mach One which involved a London Club tour and universities around the country.
Peter and Simon later reunited for various projects, recording more contemporary music as well as writing jingles for commercials that were aired on national TV during their extended stay in India. Although now living in separate parts of the world, the two recently worked on a new song called "Gentle Bird" out of the ashes of an old idea called "Flight of the Eagle"...in fact it was based on the very first song they'd ever written together as a couple of starry-eyed kids...and both can be heard on this site.
