DJ DEE's been in NYC only for 3 years but amazingly the clulbs he's played records in the city are countless now..( such as Lotus, Embassy, Ruby Falls, BLVD, and Guest House...).
What makes him possible to earn the respect and success in such a short term is not only his deep knowledge of music and DJ skill but also his heart, himseslf.
It's his saying ' before being good DJ, I want to be good person'.
DJ DEE was born in Japan in 1980. The environment and time he grew up were not such a ideal place to be a DJ.
But somehow he was naturally attracted to music, like HIPHOP and old school music.
He loves Black culture and it's easy to guess that he watched and influenced by many black movies like JUICE, White Man Can't Jump, Original Gangstas and New Jack City. Back in the days, wearing fingerless leather groves like Q from JUICE was the coolest thing for him and RAMPAGE by E.P.M.D's vinyl is still hung on the wall as one of his favs.
By the age of 16, DJ DEE began learning his craft. He spent countless hours on scratching and mixing records and developed his skills as a DJ. Influenced by legends such as DJ Kid Capri.
In 2004 he moved to the place HIPHOP was born to pursue his dream: Be on DJ booth in NYC and ROCK!
Shortly after he moved here he met his mentor, DJ SOUL at legendary party at Lot 61.
DJ SOUL hired him as his DJ assistant first, and DJ DEE start his DJ career here by carrying DJ SOUL's records. Those days were irreplaceable time for him, assisting DJ SOUL:fly DJ and hanging out with DJ SOUL:good friend helped him learn English, real HIPHOP and everything he wanted.
At the same time DJ SOUL started using SERATO, DJ DEE started opening up for him. He made his DJ debut at Flow.
