We formed in March 2005 and since then we have organised a number of events including Hiroshima/Nagasaki memorial concerts, film events and festivals.
Peace Concert 2009
Saturday 8, August, 3pm to 5pm
State Library Village Roadshow Theatrette
A community event to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki, and to promote and commit ourselves to a lasting peace.
This event, organized by 'Japanese for Peace - www.jfp.org.au', will bring together a diverse array of people to acknowledge and learn from the mistakes of the past and present. We will come together to imagine a world where our creativity and our technological power is used in the promotion of life, not destruction. Peace comes from understanding and respect. We will celebrate and share each other’s arts and cultures which bring colour to our lives, and hope for the future.

Thanks for becoming a Friend..:) Welcome back to our page where you maybe at some stage also will consider contributing by purchasing a few trees a month in making our Globe Better a better place for all of us..:) These trees will also give you a calculated return of about 4 times your investment during the next 20 years. As a new company we need both ordinary members, supporters, investors, co workers etc. The investment we offer are trees and as a consequence a positive impact on global warming, and a Better Globe for all of us !! Planting trees will stop erosion, contradict climate changes and also support poor farmers becoming independent, as well as raise funds for school building in Africa. We do not believe in just charity, but we do believe strongly in "self-help" and will support poor people in Africa based on principles of profitability. This way they can be self-sustained and able to work themselves out of poverty. We are doing this through tree planting, agriculture and education. Please visit us on Myspace to know more, see photos, films etc. Thank you again for your support !
Hi, thanks for your great work and thanks for adding us. We've not much time left to help head towards a nuclear-free Australia. We urge everyone to see our scorecard and vote accordingly!
Thanks for the request and for supporting Ms. Roy!
"The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget." - Arundhati Roy
Please add us to your top friends, and help alert others to the dangers of nuclear power and weaponry, and help educate on more sustainable, renewable energy alternatives.
"Switching from coal to nukes, is like giving up smoking and taking up crack." ~ Dan Becker, director of the Sierra Club's global warming program
Keep up the wonderful work that JfP are doing. There couldn't be a better cause to be working towards than world peace. Wish you great success with the peace concert on Sunday!
Honoured to be the first to comment on your site... Thanks for adding us. We're urging everyone to see our short video and to sign the global petition, to be presented annually to the UN nuclear Terror States.
