Japhy Ryder creates raw, driving, instrumental rock, with an air-tight rhythm section, melodic rock guitar, and effects-laden trumpet.
A tight-knit quartet of musicians living, working, and performing in Burlington, Vermont, Japhy Ryder have played nearly 300 shows over the past few years and have quickly become one of the Northeast’s premier up and coming acts.
Japhy Ryder have had the privilege of sharing the stage with such artists as Femi Kuti, The Roots, The Spam All-Stars, Ozomatli, Tea Leaf Green, and Bernie Worrell. They have played at many prestigious venues, like Vermont’s Higher Ground, New York City’s Knitting Factory, Cleveland’s Beachland Ballroom, New Hampshire’s Stone Church Theater, and Philadelphia’s Grape Street. Many festivals, including Camp Bisco, Gratefulfest, Northeast Kingdom Music Festival, and Hookahville, have all added Japhy Ryder’s signature sound to their diverse lineups.
With such wide ranging credentials, Japhy Ryder continues to show that they have been putting in work. An ever-growing touring regimen, an increasingly hungry fan base, and the chops and musicianship to back it up, have poised Japhy Ryder to start bringing their music to the far reaches of the globe.

Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings isn’t just a live sound
recording studio. Located in a 200 year
old 3 bedroom bed and breakfast style farmhouse on 40 acres in Wolcott,
Vermont, the project studio of NBSR offers great rates, a relaxed atmosphere,
and the seclusion needed to lay down those most righteous of tracks. And just like the mobile unit, there is never
an initial mixing charge at Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings.
