Nieuwe CD Jacques Mees - Walking the Maze
Zanger ontmoet schrijver........
Waar Hyves toe kan leiden.......
Bert Vervoorn maakt z’n hele leven al liedjes in ’t nederlands en engels. Hij schreef o.a. Monica voor Circus Custers, diverse liedjes voor Kinderen voor Kinderen. Verder namen Gerard Cox, Bart Boos, Wim Pols en anderen materiaal van hem op. Hij werkte jarenlang als muziektechnicus bij het NOB in Hilversum, maar tegenwoordig is een laptop voldoende om zijn nieuwe muziekjes heel eigentijds vast te leggen. Virtuele muzikanten kunnen (bijna) alles spelen. . .
Voor Jacques Mees begon alles op zijn negende jaar, betoverd door de stem van Bob Dylan, op naar zijn eerste gitaar.
Een levenslange zoektocht in de wereld van folk, blues en country leverde hem tot nu toe meer dan 1000 liedjes op in zijn repertoire.
Ontdekkingen als Stephen Stills, Townes van Zandt en Guy Clark brachten hem ook tot schrijven.
Zo nam hij in 1996 de cd Drive them all crazy op met tal van gastmuzikanten.
Jacques trok spelend heel Europa door, kwam in Rio de Janeiro en New York.
Tegenwoordig laat hij zich vaak met succes inhuren als troubadour of singer - songwriter.
En toen krabbelde Bert op Hyves: “mooie cover van John Prine zing je daar ! “
En Jacques krabbelde terug: “bedankt, en leuke liedjes schrijf jij ”
En Bert weer: “ misschien wil je wel eens wat van die liedjes zingen “
En Jacques: “ kom maar op ! “
Van het een kwam het ander. De eerste demo die binnenkwam was meteen in de roos. Enkele weken later schudden zij elkaar voor het eerst de hand in Tilburg.
Na die inzingsessie was het hek van de dam. Bert had een stem gevonden voor zijn liedjes en bleef schrijven, En Jacques voelde zich als een vis in het water: “soms lijkt het wel of ik oude hits zing…”
En dat is het gevoel wat om Walking the Maze heenhangt : maar liefst 17 nieuwe songs, met echo’s uit heel veel jaren muziek. Een bijzonder project, dankzij Hyves !

If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
