About me: Jared Deck is co-owner of Beautiful Sound Studio in downtown Weatherford. In 2008, Jared ran for State House District 57, being edged out of the Primary by a mere 66 votes.
Jared graduated from Thomas-Fay-Custer City Schools in 1998. He went on to study music at Messiah College of Grantham, PA and Southwestern Oklahoma State University of Weatherford. He has worked for Imation Corporation, Nabors Drilling, Deck Enterprises, and currently works as a Music Minister and Teacher.
Jared’s community involvements include State Youth Suicide Prevention Council Appointee, Youth & Family Services Mentor in Canadian & Blaine Counties, Teenline Oklahoma volunteer, Southwest Playhouse actor, and Custer County Democratic Chair.

♪ Jared best to you in the New Year! I floor this old Ford, fishtail on red dirt roads, and let my truck strike a cord. Time to think of something to say. I should feed the cows some round bails of hay, but right now daybreak is stirring the deer. Running and springing across barbwire fence, damn almost hit that one got too near. Rolling clouds of dust bellowing from the rear, creating my own storm have no fear. Thinking of you and what you do, thinking that sometimes one keeps on moving to get through. But as clouds roll out sometimes dark, best to leave them behind especially for a lark. ♪

Not sure if you know this or not, but the Senate is looking at a bill that can put a lot of music teachers without a job in a year or two because they think they should put children's obesity into their own hands and kick out the arts in order to do so because they don't realize that parents can take their kids for a walk but not give them music lessons. Plus, music enhances learning. PE doesn't.
