About Jared Salvatore (MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM UP NOW!!!)
Listening to Jared Salvatore for the first time is like having a great cup of coffee at a coffee shop you’ve never been to before. You go back again for more, meet other regulars, and you learn to love the people working there. You love the smell of your clothes when you leave, the sounds of the burr grinders and finally, one day, you walk in and it feels like home.
Jared has the uncanny ability to balance the unique and the familiar, bringing his quiet and thoughtful tendencies into a very vocal, personal forum. You can tell by his lyrics that he is influenced by everything and consumed by details, from dirty nails to picture frames, from the way people kick their legs in the air when they laugh to scarves left on pull-out couches.
The music scene in Boston took Jared under its wing in 1999 when he was a sophomore in high school. Honing his vocal, keyboard, and guitar chops, Jared went from playing in funk bands at the Harvard Square House of Blues to playing in rock bands at the Paradise Lounge with stops everywhere in between. Considered by some to be a “local legend-in-the-making”, he is both solo troubadour and the front man and primary songsmith for the rock group the Zero Four. Jared has also spent time as a touring member of the band Lansdowne. Jared has worked with Grammy winners Kathy Mattea, George Massenburg, and Elliot Scheiner, and has been recognized in several songwriting competitions, including several in the songwriting department at the Berklee College of Music, and an honorable mention in the West Coast Songwriters International Song Contest for the song “Queen of Broken Promises”.
So sit by the window in your favorite chair in your new favorite coffee shop. Let the carousels, ghosts, champagne, and jewelry boxes weave their way into the way you see the world; a little piece of Jared Salvatore to take with you everywhere you go.
