Jared Sowan, a multi-talented First Nations composer and performer, hails from the Swan River First Nation in Northern Alberta. He has been singing since the age of 6, from the genres of Gospel, Country, Blues and Rock. His powerful voice has been described as a soulful, creator given talent. He has been playing piano since the age of 3. He also plays drums, bass and guitar.
His debut compact disc, “Jared Sowan, Eclectically Yours” was released in the spring of 2006. He composed and performed all of the instruments (Billy Joe Green came in and played lead guitar) on this debut compact disc and in November 2006, Jared was nominated and WON two Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards for Best Male Artist of the Year and Best Blues Album. In 2007 Jared also won Best Blues Album in Milwuakie at The Indian Summer Music Awards.
