Jarflys are cicadas or locusts. they come out every 17 years, shed their skin and make a lot of noise.
i had been playing music for 17 years but always kept songs like these for the bedroom. then i decided to get some of my favorite musicians in town to play along to some of the tunes. in three and a half years jarflys have never had a practice or a band fight. to this point the songs have been written by jimi davies (jimi haha from jimmie's chicken shack, irresistible smell of decay and the done 4, ) these songs are made so much better by the amazing musicians who play in the band. the music ranges from straight rocking grooves to "out-there" jams. always improvisational, it is the live show that truly shows what this band is about. "good times and good friends".
the first release "anonymous" was released in 03' and has a chill and lush feel. all of the songs were recorded by jimi and then everyone came in and played their first impressions of the songs. meg murray also sings back up on alot of the tunes. the result shows the talents of the band. the upcoming release "too" has a much different feel. bigger more focused and concentrated. as soon as some songs are available they will be posted here.
