Music
Anything disgustingly trendy and pop. Needless to say, we love the band Chicago. But really, we share our true music colors in our review section, Review Mirror.
Movies
Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, The Blues Brothers, The Fugitive, High Fidelity. Really, any movies filmed in Chicago
Books
We highly recommend our latest photoproject, "Grown-Up Reading", showcasing childrens books for adults. We also tell you what's good and what you should and shouldn't be caught reading in our feature, What Not To Read, by Elizabeth Simone.
The Jargon Chicago isn’t your typical online publication. You’re not going to be getting the latest news from City Hall, a review of the hottest new restaurant, or gossip about the latest celebrity filming a movie in Chicago. Jargon wants to show people the city they already know and love, but in a light they’ve never seen it before.
Started in June 2006, Jargon was launched as a magazine that would cover culture, style and everyday life with a focus on local Chicago. The magazine never takes itself too seriously, and isn’t afraid to step on a toe or two to prove it’s point. Though it takes its inspiration from “blog” culture, Jargon is different, and they know that their readers are too, which is why they strive to bring a new and unique voice to the local Chicago scene.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who wants to read us. Also, writers, artists, musicians, local business owners, the weirdo on the corner, anyone with an interesting perspective on the city.
...sombody on my friends list wrote a real nasty thing about you in a blog they just wrote you need to see this, i dont know why either, sorry, but here is the link to it...
