Due to eVe Buigues' departure and recent relocation to the United Kingdom, Jariya have formerly separated. The members of the band are currently involved in various musical projects in the US and the UK. Click on their individual pictures to be taken to their respective MySpace pages.........
Jariya was comprised of Eve Buigues (lead vocal, piano, synth, loops, drums)(France), Andrea Bensmiller (guitars, electric violin, mandolin, synth, vocals, samples and loops)(U.S.) and Marika Tjelios (bass, keyboards, guitar, samples & loops, drums, vocals)(Canada). Jariya produced film music in their private studio and have been featured in features, shorts and TV shows, including Margaret Chos Notorious C.H.O, Margaret Cho's new feature film "Bam Bam and Celeste", Lorene Machado's "Starcrossed", the AOL/Launch promotion for Jack Blacks School of Rock, and The Discovery Health Channels Impact: Stories of Survival. Their last album, the Prejudice of a Certain Personality Type, (titled after Alan Watts’ quintessential lecture “Seeing Through The Net: Wiggly World”) takes the listener on a 60-minute introspective journey into past and future, broken relationships, and female sensitivity with a unique perspective and a rare emotionally connecting intensity. "Jariya have presented a spell-bounding soundscape in this musical offering. It sounds like the inner workings of a mind choosing to see beauty in her post-industrial, post-human world. She takes the stripped amber hue of the cold wet streets and turns it to gold. The vocals weave in and out of the listener's conscious and seem to commentate without intrusion. Repeating motifs develop subtly, asking the listener to find them and enjoy them, just as our friend on the bus, basks in the gold light of higher self."

Hi there JARIYA first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that.
