Born on October 26th 1990 in Hilo, Hawaii, Jasmine Miranda Crowe now at the fresh age of 18 is an entire musical package. An accomplished singer, violinist, guitarist, songwriter and recording artist, Jasmine writes songs that combine and utilize styles across the musical spectrum of genres.
Her education began at age three when she picked up the violin and started lessons using the Suzuki method. During her early years at age five she taught herself to sing by listening to Broadway musical recordings. Growing older she gained stage experience by participating in professional student and community orchestras, chorale groups, dance ensembles, and local theater.
At age 14 she wrote her first song and attracted the attention of Ron Felts, a local recording studio owner when she played her violin at an open-mic. Shortly thereafter she started working in his home studio leading her in her junior year of High School to obtain her GED early so that she could focus full-time on her music career. Over the past three years she has been working in the studio environment daily doing her own tracking, editing and production using the latest programs in the industry including Pro-Tools, Final Cut Pro for film editing, Giga-Studio, Melodyne, Sibelius, and plug-ins such as BFD drums and Pianoteq.
Jamming and improvising on her fiddle, Jasmine has played with several different bands that come to the islands from all over, exposing her to different styles including rock, jazz, swing, blues, and bluegrass. Having the ability to sit-in and improvise with a band she's never heard before, she is able to fit in with the style, groove, and mood of the music.
At her young age, Jasmine has developed quite a following in Hilo and abroad, stirring up a buzz wherever she goes with her music appealing to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Jasmine's recordings have been played on local and college radio stations and she has played gigs for various local and political events, benefits, and showcases on the Big Island, Oahu, and California.
A true artist in music, her songs are like paintings. You can almost hear the color in the sound, her melodies fresh and inventive, crafted poetically and emotionally. Her clever lyrics showcase her mature voice not only musically, but they also reveal her self as a human being. She picked up the guitar and piano at age 16 and since then her lyrical writing style bordering on classical, jazz, and Broadway influences has evolved combining a fusion of rock/pop and folk/singer-songwriter styles.
Jasmine aspires to tour the world playing music as a recording artist, and also pursue acting in films and Broadway musicals.
