More personally, I'm greatly influenced by the memory of some weird social injustices as seen and interpreted during grade-school days in the small town I was raised in. Sometimes people get away with a lot. Also, I remember a swing compilation disc I happened upon before I was a teen, that I completely wore out, was a huge influence on my tastes; including a fun rendition of Ol' Man River. I'm undoubtedly influenced by my indie-music-peers and heroes including, but not limited to, Rachel Ries,
Kat Bula, Stephen Ray Leslie, Jake Hemming, Scott Greene, Sher Vadinska, Ron Hardesty, Robert Sarazin Blake, Anais Mitchell.
Other voices that have been stopping me in my tracks since I remember first being aware of radio are those of Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt.
Roberta Flack, Steve Miller, Don Henley, Tori Amos, Bjork and anything my big brother says I should hear. My Mother.

Singer, songwriter, guitarista, Jasmine Riley's americana-folk songs are inventive, genuine and run deeply emotional. A veteran of a number of Northwest bands, including the The Loyal Sinners, Jasmine is joined by the incomparable Kat Bula (Thimble vs Needle) on fiddle and harmony vocals.
what folks have said:
"[...]" ...we finally have a record from one of my favorite singers, Jasmine (Riley). Better known thus far for her session work with other groups (Loyal Sinners, Chuckunut Drive, Big Sur), (Riley) hits the mark bigtime with her fabulous Farm Home Loan demo. "[...]" (Riley's) voice has never sounded better and the combination of Bula's violin and backing vocals immediately hypnotize the listener. "[...]". My favorite song on the record is the folky/bluesy "Keep you Believing," where (Riley) shows her strength."
- Boris Budd, What's Up Magazine
"Jasmine Riley's powerhouse vocals and sincere songwriting are gaining a lot of local attention."
- Bellingham Alive
"[...]" "... the hottest harmonies in Bellingham, and likely further. "[...]" "...Jasmine and Kat sound like they have been singing together for a lifetime. It is the sound of voices of which only rise from the wellspring of deep friendship. It is the collective voice that makes the songs of love and loss beautiful, although sometimes painfully sad. It is the collaborative harmony that belies the years of singing apart, as if they were just practicing for all of those years to perform and create together in the future."
- James Hardesty, Co Founder, Green Frog Cafe Acoustic Tavern
