*Formed in early 2008, J.A.B. (Jason Allwood Band) have been gigging the Columbus, Ohio music scene since it's inception. Priding themselves on catchy orininal material, J.A.B. songs have included many stylistic elements such as: Reggae, Blues, Rock, Jazz, Classic Rock, Jam, Funk, Metal, sometimes within the same song. One song might have a "Sublime/Bob Marley" feel, while the next is authentic East-Chicago Blues, then it's straight into "Led-Zeppelin Power Rock" Mode.
*Their various influences meld together to form the uniqueness of J.A.B. Guitarist/Vocalist, Jason Allwood comes from a Blues/Rock/Reggae/Shred background, while Percussionist Brian Watts has played on countless sessions ranging from Metal, to Pop, to diving into full out Jam Band territory. Then, of course, we can't forget about Bassist Brian Grady who's influences stretch miles beyond his years, growing up on everything from Miles Davis to Bach. His main inspiration comes from Jazz and Motown, although he's been know to sit down and play through the Guns N' Roses song catalog from time to time.
*The group members have each had their own accomplishments. Jason Allwood has performed at the ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME in Cleveland, played 5 Battle of the Bands (won all 5), has played Jazz with Organ legends Tony Monaco and Bobby Floyd. Studied with the great Don Hales, and taught Guitar to over 1100 students over the years.
*Bassist Brian Grady has studied with the master Andy Woodson, played Bass in Jazz ensembles and played for hundreds of thousands of people at various outdoor festivals, all while still in his teens.
*Percussionist Brian Watts may hold a record for the most fluent styles: equally comfortable playing Congas and Bongos in a Latin-vibe behind acoustic Guitar, brushes with a small Jazz trio or a 20 minute rock jam in a stadium. Watts doesn't know pressure. He simply shows up, does his thing, and he does it well. Having played hundreds of shows and countless recordings, Watts has had offers to join bands fronted by Ace Frehley and Vince Neal.
*Some bands claim to be unique and different J.A.B. delivers with a 1-2 punch of great musicians, songs, and something for everyone stylistically. There is the Reggae vibe of "Cottontino" and "Your Favorite Song", the Blues of "Kicking Yourself Now", the striaght to Classic Rock Radio Rotation feel of "See Who Wins", to the Pop Radio Friendly melodies of "This Will Be" and "Only You".
*Their philosphy, their promise, their delivery is simple: Spreading the word of music through constant grooves, soulful guitar, sonic paintings, and catchy originals
*This is a fresh welcomed change to one dimentional artists who have plagued our airwaves and ringtones for some time.
