Pinball, Pinball, Pinball and Pinball
Sounds Like
The implication of a failed superhero offers a doomed glance at something that was once great. But with Jason America, a self-proclaimed superhero that has failed, this is not the case. Rather, in his music there is a taste of something grandiose, something not-quite capable of conquering the world, but delicious enough to satisfy anyone who craves a soulful sound that also happens to be brazenly guitar-driven.
A few of his tunes do touch on the concept of doom, but only for those few seconds before his hypnotic voice enters the realm. It's a boozy voice, one that's seen more than just a few good times. And even at its lowest register, those vocals grab at you and refuse to let go.
But with Jason America's guitar, the story is told. Causing a pinball effect by alternating between speeds of fury and speeds of a catatonic state, his guitar keeps your stimulated mind frenzied to hear every next beat. Same goes for the lyrics – in 'Ghosts,' one of his best tracks, he strongly delivers ideas that leave a listener anxiously questioning what's next: "I don't believe in ghosts/but I'm sure that Jesus talks to me."
Feverish at times, mesmerizing at others, Jason America knows what to do when making music for the masses. Almost the way a superhero would.

Jason America is... Mean, frustrating, lazy, unpredictable, never repays you for bail. About as useful as a two-legged pony.
Failed. A broken little man. An AM radio in a old pick-up truck on a lonely, dusty road. There are a few that are overly missed. Someone who will never get himself together. A guy you can really have fun with, but, only till the money's gone. In a parallel universe, he dreams of intersections.
