ATTENTION BANDS AND PROMOTERS: PLEASE do not post your flyers and promotions for shows on our page. Although we support local music in all forms, these flyers may conflict with our shows and events. If you do post your flyer, it may be removed. We hope you can understand that our myspace page is about promoting Jason Cassidy. Thank you for your understanding. Upon meeting Jason Cassidy, you instantly feel like your kicking back with an old friend. With insight that often takes a lifetime to develop, Cassidy's values shine through in his music allowing the listener to find a little piece of themselves in every song. For an artist who prides himself on writing from his own life experiences, his honest telling of trials, tribulations, heartaches and blessings and his sincere delivery of song is his path to making lifelong fans. Cassidy plays "real" country music reminiscent of George Strait, Merle Haggard, George Jones and, if this latest Top 10 is any indication, Waylon Jennings. One listen to Cassidy's song, "Blame it On Waylon" (written by Josh Thompson, Rhett Akins), and it's easy to see that he is more determined than ever to "keep it country." Steeped in the lore and outlaw legend that surrounds the late, great Waylon Jennings, Cassidy is armed and ready to take back country music and return it to all those who believe in the neo-traditionalist movement and its outlaw ways. "I heard Josh (Thompson) play "Waylon" for the first time on a run we did with him, I knew it was a hit before the first chorus was over. It consumed my life for about three months after that," recalls Cassidy. "It became an anthem for us on the road as we were blaming it all on Waylon at that point…bad shows, missed licks, my loose tongue, blown trailer tires, you name it! We would throw that song on and all the pain and frustration would disappear and it would lift our spirits! I'm just thankful that he gave me his blessing to cut such an incredible song!" The single is the first from Cassidy's sophomore effort, KEEP IT COUNTRY, scheduled to hit stores on July 16, 2013. This much anticipated release follows a string of hits from the album MY REDEMPTION (A-Blake Records) which debuted in 2011. Blending Texas musicality and Nashville-style vocals, Cassidy's stellar debut cemented his position among fans and industry alike as one to watch in 2013 (as evidenced by CMA Close-Up "Who New to Watch" Feb/March 2013). Following four straight Top 20 radio singles "Sounds Like an Angel To Me," "Honky Tonk Heaven," (#1 Texas Regional Radio Report), "What If" (#1 video on the fan-voted CMT Pure 12-Pack Countdown), and his most recent Top 5 smash, "Ride of Your Life," Cassidy relishes the thought of returning to music inspired by his old-school influences. "My idea for this record is to 'keep it country' and stay as close to walking the line between new country and the roots where most of our hearts still are," stated Cassidy. "It's simple really… it's time we bring back the basics of country music: heart, soul, telecasters, steel guitar, fiddle, three chords and the truth. I hope this record will be the perfect mix of old and new that the fans will enjoy." Greg Hunt of Rosewood Studio in Tyler, Texas (Steve Holy, LeAnn Rimes), is at the helm as producer after having a hand in Cassidy's last two successful singles. Cassidy penned three originals for the eleven-song album and KEEP IT COUNTRY is chock full of traditional country music written by or with the likes of Larry Bastian, Garth Brooks, Craig Wiseman, Matt Nolen, Jamey Johnson, Aaron Tippin, Kevin Fowler, and even one from the mighty Merle Haggard. "This is a collection of songs that I've thought about cutting for a long time along with a few songs that I have written that I'm really fired up about," Cassidy said. "We are getting incredible feedback out on the road with these songs and the fans are waiting very patiently for them to be released." A raw vulnerability surrounds Cassidy's music and his relatable lyrics have a lived-in feel. This organic, or as most say, traditional style, is instantly appealing to fans looking for authenticity and has allowed Cassidy to perform full-time for more than five years to a large following of fans. With the crowds growing in attendance along the way, he has been invited to play at such events as CMA Music Fest, Ziegenbock Festival, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo events and has shared the stage with Tracy Byrd, Easton Corbin, The Band Perry, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, Tracey Lawrence, Eli Young Band, Josh Abbott, Kevin Fowler, Aaron Watson, Roger Creager, Stoney LaRue and more. "I'm so blessed to be able to do something I love for a living and share the stage with and become good friends with some of the most incredible musicians after just one record," Cassidy says excitedly. "There is nothing like witnessing a song grabbing a new fan for the first time, bringing them in the door to a bar stool or the dance floor. That's what keeps me going! The larger the crowd, the more amped up we get." When he's not promoting his music or recording, Cassidy cherishes any down time with friends and family, engaging in his favorite activities of hunting and fishing when he has the chance. These activities have suited him well as he's been featured on outdoor lifestyle media outlets "Good Time Boys Radio Show" and "KNG Chronicles." Keeping it "real," his country life anchors his musical goals and he assures there is still more to come. "I have a list a mile long of songwriters I would love to write with and a list a half a mile long of artists I would like to sing with. I look forward to us rolling and growing, and most of all, touching hearts one fan at a time. As long as there's country music lovers that will listen, the path is clear and faith, hope and a song will get us there!" www.JasonCassidyMusic.com For More Information, Artist Materials or Interview Requests Contact: A-Blake Records | Ami Blackwell ~ Publicist | Em: ami@ablakerecords.com | Ph: 281-832-6696 -
