G'day! I hope that you will spend some time with me here, and check out the video's that I have picked out. I am mainly using this site to network with other music, dance, film and theatre practitioners and technicians. If that is you, then please contact me. And check out what I have written below. If you aren't scared to take creative risks, then you may want to work with me. I plan to post my own work here soon.

SEEKING CREATORS [CREATIVE RISK TAKERS]!!

CALLING WRITERS, DANCERS, ACTORS, MUSICIANS, FILM AND THEATRE MAKERS AND TECHNICIANS IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA WHOM WANT TO PUT FORWARD AN IDEA, SCRIPT, OR SKILL FOR TESTING AND/OR DEVELOPING.

I am inviting YOU and OTHERS to put forward your ideas, skills and material for testing and development. This is interaction is part process, and part development. There is no charge, and YOU own your own ideas and material.

I have my own ideas and material for testing and development, but I am still working on them. If you don't have anything ready, you can still put forward an already published piece of text or material. Or, we can think up ideas on the spot. There is total flexibility. The main thing is to be testing the dramatic worth of the idea or material. FOR THIS CONCEPT TO WORK THERE NEEDS TO BE MATERIAL TO BE WORKED ON OR PRESENTED, SO THAT EITHER THE PERSON PRESENTING THE MATERIAL CAN GAIN FEEDBACK, AND/OR A STRONG IDEA CAN BE CREATED.

The space that I will be using is QUEEN STREET STUDIOS. Below is the website address. It is located near Central Station in the Sydney CBD:

I will be going into QUEEN STREET STUDIO'S every first and last Sunday from 11am to 1pm to test, develop and shoot or stage ideas or material. And, I will also go out to a location to shoot. This is a FREE open forum/networking opportunity for you and other performance artists to improve your ideas and skills, to use your imagination, and to create work opportunities.

There is no fee involved, and I am paying for the space. I am doing this because I believe that performance artists MUST be doing their craft, and developing their ideas and skills, on a regular basis.

I will put a notice out for Directors and Choreographers, if some people would prefer to be guided by a Director or Choreographer.

This is a golden opportunity for you to run with "your" ideas and imagination, and to work with others in a creative and supportive environment.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.

There are 4 simple things that you have to do: 1. REGISTER, 2. STATE, 3. RSVP and 4. JOIN.

1. REGISTER.

1. REGISTER WHAT YOU WILL DO! You MUST contact me to REGISTER what you want to do, and what you have to offer.

You need to put it onto paper, and then forward it to me. When you do this, YOU will then own the copyright for the idea or material. This would be your idea, skill or material, which you want to test, develop or present.

Put your best ideas and material forward. It should be something that you definitely want to produce, or something which you think has strong potential.

The group interactivity is performance based, so it could be one of the following types of pieces:

- DANCE piece.

- FILM piece.

- THEATRE piece.

- MUSIC piece.

- MIXED PERFORMANCE piece.

Or, it could be something that you might find difficult to do, or would like to do. Use something that has dramatic (or comedic etc etc.) potential, which you have worked on, or would like to work on.

I will then put a notice out to other participants, and co-ordinate with you a group meeting at Queen Street Studios.

2. STATE ITS STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT! (How much work, time and effort have you invested, or want to invest?)

- NEW - Your idea, skill or material is yet to be developed or tested.

- DEVELOPED - Your idea, skill or material is in either an EARLY, MID or LATER stage of development.

- SOMEONE ELSE'S - i.e. a piece of published text which has obviously already been developed.

- THE GROUP CREATES - an idea or material is created during a meeting, and an owner is yet to be established.

I have my own short film, theatre and dance ideas for developing.

3. RSVP.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP UNANNOUNCED!!! You MUST RSVP to say when you will be participating. This is NOT a course!! And I want to pre-plan before we go into the space.

4. JOIN.

If you will be participating then YOU MUST 1. Create your own myspace page (come-on!, you have got this far, it's not that hard!) and 2. JOIN my myspace group http://groups.myspace.com/ThePlaygroundSydney (But ONLY if you will be participating, AND YOU ARE IN SYDNEY, because I will be sending out regular notices, reporting on activities, and blogging material).

I will be posting messages to let people know what is happening.

THE MAIN GOALS

NUMBER 1 PRIORITY is to be a morale booster!

NUMBER 2 PRIORITY is to be productive!

NUMBER 3 PRIORITY is to be pro-active!

Therefore, this involves the following:

- The testing and development of ideas, skills and material by undertaking practical performance related activities, on a regular basis.

- Produce strong dramatic material which to promote yourself and others.

- Create new networks and opportunities.

This is an open process! I have my own ideas that I want to work on, and I can set material, but I also want you to work on and test YOUR ideas, skills and material.

OUTCOMES

(NOTE: Individuals own their own ideas. The group will not own your ideas. And this is not a production company, but you will have something polished to show producers later down the track).

- Improve or test ideas, skills and material so that they can either be produced or discarded.

- Generate material which has strong dramatic potential, and which can create a greater chance of a work opportunity or funding.

- Individuals could submit their own material to either a funding body, a production company, or produce their own work. Credit would need to be given to individuals whom contribute a significant amount of time to another persons project, otherwise a piece could only be allowed to be tested once or twice.

- Present material to others in the forum.

- Present work or material to industry professionals.

- Enter material into a competition.

- Post material onto a website or put into a showreel.
