Influences
Influences are wide and varied. Lyrically, I am influenced by the wind that blows the trees. The clouds that line the sky. And the prompting I hear in my spirit. Musically, I am heavily moved by melody. Non-forced, but melody, that allows you to anticipate where the next note is going to be, yet, suprisingly goes to that augmented 3rd!
Sounds Like
That is a loaded question, asking the artist who they sound like. Come on!
I am a follower of Christ, or in my best attempt, I pursue holiness with intensity. God called me savingly to Himself, I answered the call, and now I work at fleshing out my faith daily in an attempt to honor Him with my life of worship. I also like vanilla wafers.
I write what God has revealed to me. Any other attempt to put down on the proverbial paper is naught without His influence. I strive to be honest in the words I write, and pray that in my feeble attempt, that He is glorified.
Musically . . . well, it's like I have the whole song in my head, all led by the melody, and yet it's so frustrating because I cannot play everything I hear, so I just bang it out on my trusty Takamine and pray for rain!
My heart is to be broken and for my life to be used by God. I want to be opposite of the man in the mirror, as stated in James 1:22-24, and instead, be the man that looks in the mirror and remember who he is. Check that verse out. It's the smack.
I want to usher in the presence of God through song. I want a performance to actually be an offering.
Plus . . . I really, really like vanilla wafers.
Wow they are all great, I'm not just saying that Jason....My top three favs are I want more, Come home, and Capture me...You are really talented!! You could def. get signed and do something with these.
