Band Members~ We need and want to be YOUR FRIENDS! If you know how to do this MySpace/Friends thing, please pass on the info to me. I'm all thumbs with this kind of thingy, so PLEASE be kind enough to help. We're here for you in support of your efforts: we Indies are all in this together! * WE can ONLY post 2 minute samples of Jason's songs on MySpace due to legal issues, so we encourge you to either buy the entire album that lists all of the credits from CDBaby.com or our website below, or download whichever songs you like from over 50 digital download sites including recently, SNOCAP! "Directions," by ‘Greywolf,’ includes the talents of the National fiddle champion, Randy Elmore, electric lead guitar of Chris Thornberg, the late, great Henry Sapp--formerly of Willie Nelson's band, young drummer Aaron Brown, multi-instrumentalist/producer/engineer Gary Mann, and the multi-instrumentalist/producer/singer-songwriter, Jason 'Greywolf' Leigh. Genre: Folk/Folk Rock/Americana music: Acoustic-electric using some hand-made instruments, all totally real: homemade Folk music. (All songs written & (c) by Jason Leigh, BMI). * This album is not Native American music. The album is envisioned to bring back some of the highlighted sounds of the late 60s and early 70s into the now, with truth-telling, ‘down-to-the-bone lyrics,’ upbeat, leg-shaking songs, blatantly honest ballads and 'anti-dishonest-politician' songs that reflect this war-torn, Cyberville, reality-TV show and uncertain world we find ourselves living in: songs designed to set the mind and spirit free. 'Take a trip while sitting still. Award winning Poet/Songwriter, Jason 'Greywolf' Leigh, toured across the USA and has been down that rocky road of life, learning from the school of hard knocks, which gives him the introspective to write with knowledge in an original fashion that YOU would be proud to enjoy. Greywolf's on-stage charisma and this 'live' sounding album will inspire all those who listen. Catch the buzz! Oh yes: there are no photos on the album just yet, but we're trying to find a camera right now, or hopefully, a major label contract. ??? ** UPDATE: We have been fortunate in having National radio shows play our album of late. Here is a link for our forthcoming interviews: http://jasonleigh.org/interviews.htm. *** After a two hour interview up in Canada, we were asked to send in our album to a station in England ("Radio Haven") and a station in Belgium ("Somewhere Between" where the album was the 2nd most requested American Folk album the first week sent). As some, if not all of you may know, this is unheard of in the USA: to have radio stations actually request an album from an Indie artist! On all three of the latest interviews, we were able to 'plug' CDBaby.com as a service to ALL Indie musical artists to help promote everyone's efforts. "Big things are born of small beginnings." Thusly, “DIRECTIONS” was born. Quirt Evans, Web Master for Greywolf Cherry Picker Publishing P.O. Box 377 Cleburne, TX 76033
InfluencesForemost: The Beatles, all four made the same hand of a GREAT band. John Lennon, George Harrison, The Travelin' Wilburys, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan (of course!), Johnny Horton, Hank Williams, SR. & JR, and the people I meet and love have all influenced my songs and writings. That means you, too!
Sounds LikeNo one else: Jason Leigh and Greywolf have their own sound some have compared to "The Sgt. Pepper of Americana music!" *Please see the 'Influences' section. * *Almost all songs run over 2:30 to 6:10 minutes long for your listening pleasure, so we will only post 3 or 4 song samples that are the shortest songs with the lead song that was written right after '9/11' and is the world's first copyrighted song making mention of that horrid event. Thanks for your support! 'Patch' the wonder dog thanks you 2.
