Jason Jackson is a member of Saddle Rock Band out of Colorado Springs. Jason not only sings with Saddle Rock but is also trying to launch his solo career. After starting singing and playing the drums, he also pursued songwriting and playing the guitar.
Influences
George Strait, Charles Lowery (jason's grandfather), Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Paul Overstreet, Alan Jackson, & way too many to mention In this small small space.
Jason Jackson was born on July 20, 1987 in the town of Reedsport, OR, where he resided until just after he turned 16. He is now 20 and is a resident of Fountain, CO.
Jasons talent for music was discovered while he was a 4th grade student in Mr. Jeff Masons class at Highland Elementary School in Reedsport. Jeff is a very non-traditional teacher who believes that every child has a talent to be developed. The children applied for jobs, and Jasons application was for musician. He started with simple drumbeats and worked very seriously on each and every one. It was also there, that he joined an after school musical group called the Melody Makers and began working with the school music teacher, Dana Plagmann. Both Jeff and Dana saw a talent in Jason and worked with him to advance it. Within 2 years, the two decided that it was time for Jason to add singing to his accomplishments. Though reluctant to try it, he listened to the encouragement and thus, his singing career began.
When he moved to Colorado, Jason didn’t really know anyone and spent many hours sitting, strumming his guitar, and working at writing songs. Much of what is included in Living the Dream, was created during this time period. He has a sister, Jennifer, in Oregon who also contributes to some of the songwriting. She sends the lyrics and he puts them to music. He posted an ad at the local Guitar Center stating his interest in starting a country band. Through that ad, Saddle Rock, a country-classic rock band was born. Jason is the drummer and lead vocalist. He also does occasional numbers of just him and his guitar, often times singing an original song. Though there have been a few member changes, Saddle Rock is still an active band playing throughout Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas.
