MusicI like it all. I was a music journalist for 8 years,

so I grew to have a taste for a little bit

of everything.

MoviesI'm into horror, westerns and comedies.

Oh, and dramas, sci-fi, and everything else.

Yup, I like a little bit of everything here too.

TelevisionFirst and foremost... Red Sox games.

If there is a game on, I'll watch that first.

Secondly, I'm big into "The Office," "Arrested Development,"

"Nip/Tuck," and repeats of "Seinfeld."

Sadly, I'm also a big news watcher.

THE UNDERWORLD RAILROAD SET FOR RELEASE IN AUGUST

While many of the stories that surrounded the Underground Railroad are well documented, its origins are not. If history has taught us anything it’s that for every great idea, there is a greater source of inspiration. For as long as civilized man has walked the Earth, another form of the railroad has existed. The Underworld Railroad, although not unlike its sister version in terms of concept, was put into place for a very different reason. When a human being dies, its spirit is either called to Heaven or escorted to Hell based on the sins the person commits while alive. For those spirits forced to enter Hell as the wrongly accused - - there is hope. A system of safe houses has been established around the globe, offering refuge for the confused and bewildered spirits that attempt to outrun the devil. This is their story.

The amazing artist Paul Tucker worked on this and you should buy it to see his stuff alone!

FOUR STARS: "Jason takes a story that carries elements of grand western epic and psycho-drama of faith in equal parts, either one of which could have easily fallen into cliche territory on its own, and weaves them together to create what is very much his own beast - it's The Alamo meets The Prophecy."

Comic News International

Recommendation for the Week: “It’s a really cool concept. As I was reading it, I was seeing it in my head as a film.”

Fanboy Radio

“What a premise, eh? I was intrigued right away as this teaser was printed right on the back of the book. I read the book immediately upon its arrival, and again Viper has not failed to please by publishing worthy projects.”

Pop Thought

“Jason M. Burns, master of the high concept, strikes again with THE UNDERWORLD RAILROAD! Conceptually, RAILROAD is a solid book. With books like this and THE EXPENDABLE ONE, Burns has really shown himself to be one of the best high-concept guys working in comics today.”

Comics Waiting Room

“All in all, this first volume of Underworld Railroad (I assume there will be more) is an entertaining read, featuring plenty of supernatural action, intrigue, and personal conflicts to keep readers interested.”

Silver Bullet Comic Books

“Graphic novels are books, too, and while this one isn't heavenly, it's a hell of a good time.”

SF Scope

“The concept is rife with potential, and Burns would do well to pursue it further.”

What is "A Dummy's Guide To Danger" you ask? Well let me tell you!

Combining elements of humor, mystery and horror, private investigator Alan Sirois and his partner Mr. Bloomberg, a paraplegic ventriloquist dummy that Alan believes was shot in the back by an assailant and became crippled when the bullet lodged in his spine, track down a gruesome killer known only as the Flesh Collector.

"A Dummy’s Guide To Danger is an excellent comic book, working both the pulp and comic side of the line. The amazing Viper produces another winner with this book."

Silver Bullet Comic Books

"Unlike most new series out there – which may be damn fine books when all is said and done – I only had to read this one, single 22-page installment to realize that I wanted every last drop more."

Broken Frontier

"This has been a terrific series from page one, and might just be the best book Viper has produced in 2006. Definitely worth your time to seek out."

The Comics Waiting Room

Four Stars: "Don't let the odd setup fool you, if you like detective stories, this is a good read."

Indy Comic Review

"It is funny, interesting and, at times, disturbing. All in all it has taken the classic genre of the crime-fighting buddies and put its own unique stamp on it. Bottom Line: A unique, funny and weird detective yarn."

The Comic Avalanche

"When private detective Alan Sirois needs to solve a string of murders among the entertainment industry elite, he calls on his overly chatty and “paraplegic” partner, Mr. Bloomberg. And while the case has provided twists and turns over its first few issues, one of the big questions for the series’ supporting cast is Alan’s sanity, or lack thereof."

Wizard

"Talents such as Burns and Chan need to harnessed and appreciated for their raw, creative ingenuity in storytelling."

Did I mention that artist Ron Chan is on this project and he completely knocks it out of the park? I didn't... well... he is and he does. There, I said it.

Well at least you've been working right? Or keeping busy should I say?

I'm actually currently working on my pitch for my first project and i'm hoping that a company out there loves it.

And whenever issue 3 comes out if I don't have issue 2, I'll just beat up my comic guy. I added joe yesterday too. It was funny because it was right after scottie young sent me a friend request. Its like all my favorite artists all sending me friend requests and stuff.

the story on friday to pick up my books and my comic guy for the second month in a row forgot to order dummies guide to danger for me. JUst means I wait a week on it and hopefully pick it up on my birthday on the weds day with cassanova and a few of my other favorite books this week. Just thought you'd get a laugh out of like I did because my comic guy even said "guess what I forgot to order"

"What"

"Your buddies book"

I sort of shook my head and jokingly yelled at him and told him I was disappointed that he forgot again.

Umm I honestly don't know, maybe the stand out parts of each issue are what we could discuss? I've never done it before myself.

Thank you for doing it, I'm definitely having fun writing all this stuff. Did you get a chance to look at my con coverage? I'm not sure what i'm doing for my 5th one.

I actually had an idea to pitch to you though.
You know how they did a directors commentary for Freddy vs Jason vs Ash? Would you have the time available to do something like that whenever a new issue of dummy's guide comes out?

Winnick actually got me into green arrow.

You should attempt to read cassanova, matt fractions best work. With my pull over 100 titles i'm actually pretty diverse when it comes to taste.
Whenever you get free time just ask me and i'll recommend you some titles :)

Thanks for doing the interview bud, hopefully it will help drum up some interest in your work from people that usually just read the cape book and the bigger publishers.

And how much of exiles have you read into by the way? Winnick's stuff was amazing, I really wish there was a way to get him back on the new title.

It was good finally meeting you face to face bud, even if it was for a short time. I hope more people came and checked out your stuff after I left your booth.

Out of the 3 titles that I got from you by the way, Borderland and railroad resonated with me the most.

Oh and as promised the link to the quick review I did of a dummy's guide to danger: lost at sea #1

http://www. bludblood. com/joomla/index. php?option=com_content&task=view&id=135&Itemid=78

Oh and I've also been wondering if there was any chance I could maybe do an interview with you for said column if your not too busy, hopefully get some more people into your work. You'd be my inaugural interview.
