Jason Movrich is a versatile guitarist, songwriter and musician with many years of gigging and recording throughout the country. He blends the music of Blues, Jazz, Soul, Funk and Rock in everything he does. He's currently the guitarist in one of San Francisco's most established original funk and soul bands, Mission Players and also has a side project, Jason Movrich Acoustic Band and Jason Movrich & Friends. He's shared stages with the likes of Fareed Haque Group, Irvin Mayfield Quintet, members of Galactic, Robert Walter, Vinyl, Papa Mali and many more.
Jason draws from multiple influences ranging from funksters James Brown and The Meters to rock legends the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. From his days growing up in Chicago, Jason discovered the music of Blues, catching live shows of Son Seals, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy and Lonnie Brooks. You can hear all of these influences in his guitar playing. A strong vocalist as well, his bluesy and soulful voice lends itself well with all music genres.
Currently, Jason is performing with the Mission Players in support of their brand new CD release "Get Back Soul." He is also working on his own solo CD release scheduled for a 2010 release and performing with he Jason Movrich Acoustic Band and Jason Movrich & Friends.
Jason is also available for various live gigging and recording projects.
