My name is Jason Olcese and I go by "Jason O" because no one can pronounce "Olcese" correctly... just try... see you just said it wrong : ) So let's get to it: I hear things in my head. All the time. Not in the crazy way though, just in the music running through my brain constantly kind of way. When I realized that a lot of the music I heard in my head was actually being created there I decided to stop playing the drums so much. Instead, I learned how to sing and play the guitar and piano with hopes that one day I would be able to share those things I hear in my head.
I guess there's a part of me that feels like I was destined to do what I'm doing with my life. But then there's another part of me that's not sure what destiny is or if it actually exists and that part thinks I do it because it makes me happy. So anyways, recently I moved to NYC (yea Brooklyn!) in an effort to share the music from my head with a larger number of people! But wait... I'm getting ahead of myself.
I grew up in West Clifford, PA which is near Scranton...as seen on the Office, ha. I was that kid who got picked on for wearing sweatpants all the time and doing well in school (and also because my mom taught at my school p.s. my parents are both music teachers... destiny anybody?). So I grew up and now I wear pajamas all the time instead of sweatpants and I live in NYC, but I still record my music in the garage at home with my dad.
When I started, my dad didn't know how to record, and well... I didn't know how to sing or play guitar, but we did it anyways! Over the past 6 years, we both learned a thing or two and I decided that instead of writing more of a biography, that I would let the music speak for itself. Below are links to my first five albums, and you can really see the improvement in quality, and also the motion in music ideas, as it progressed from project to project. Enjoy!

I'm definitely diggin the music. Your mom is actually the one who introduced me to it. I'm Mountain View's only music certified substitute, so when your mom is away at music festivals and such I sub for her. One day she left your CD for me to borrow and listen to. I think it's awesome, I'll have to try to catch one of your shows.
