Bio
.. .. .. I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) Jason was born into a musical family in Cleveland, OH. His mother, a piano teacher at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and his father, a double bass player, raised Jason in a house full of songs. Jason started his own musical journey on the piano at the age of two. While other kids played video games and watched MTV, Jason would watch footage of Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonius Monk, and Charlie Parker as his father played along on his double bass. Jason would follow his folks around the house with a toy guitar, providing a musical narrative to their daily goings-on. Jason’s parents knew that, even at such an early age, he would become a songwriter. Moving through the years, Jason’s songwriting skills developed, informed by diverse influences such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Mahalia Jackson, T-Model Ford, Eric Clapton, etc. Contemporary artists such as Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Gary Allan, and Alison Krauss also shape Jason’s eclectic writing style. From hard-hitting numbers, such as 'Flip the Switch’' and 'The Wait', to reflective tunes like 'Your Yesterday' and 'Country Song Bye-Bye', Jason Meyers' lyrics draw the listener in and give them something worth holding on to. Jason’s work with bands such as Redwater Rojo and American Swill have drawn attention to his earnest, personal lyrics. Songs on Redwater Rojo’s two records have received airplay on radio stations in Cleveland, Youngstown, and Buffalo. A Redwater Rojo fan approached Jason after a show and told him that she and her husband used Jason’s song ‘What If’ for their first dance at their wedding. One listen to Jason’s lyrics in that song and it’s easy to hear why. Looking to the future now, Jason Patrick Meyers continues to build on his songwriting talents. In addition to working on material for a new record, Jason is working on writing songs for other artists. Jason also hopes to collaborate with some of his favorite writers and musicians. Through all of this, one thing is certain: Jason Meyers’ songs connect with a wide range of people. Keep an ear out for Jason. He’ll be speaking to you soon. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ........MySpace Backgrounds.... ...... -
