An award-winning musician with a diverse background of teaching, performing and writing, Jason is an Irish flute and whistle player now living in Kitchener, Ontario. He pursued studies in Jazz Performance at the Manhattan School of Music (NYC) and William Paterson University (NJ) and was awarded a B.A. in Religion & Music from LaSalle University (PA).
With forays into everything from Jazz to World music, he has performed with such artists as Latin percussionist Ray Barretto; jazz musicians Benny Golson, Rufus Reid, James Wilson, Art Farmer, and Jon Faddis; multi-instrumentalist Steafan Hannigan; fiddlers Anne Lederman, Jay Weiler, Saskia Tomkins and Sahra Featherstone; and guitarists Andy Webster and John Brennan. Jason has appeared internationally at festivals, pubs, coffeehouses and folk clubs as well as concert halls such as New York's Lincoln Center and Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
In 2003 Jason and fellow multi-instrumentalist Robert Flaherty released Seems Like Only Yesterday as The Wexford Boys (www.cdbaby.com/cd/wexfordboys). Critically well-received, the recording features original material alongside inventive treatments of familiar favourites.
