I listen to all kinds of music. I like songs with meaningful lyrics and a positive feel. Instrumental music and themes I like as well. Traditional asian music, sounds of nature, anything good for the spirit. If you're curious whether I like anything in particular, just ask. ^_^
The music (usually playing) on my profile is titled Miracle, and is one of my favorate tracks from a Chinese group called Twelve Girls Band. I like the track's powerful uplifting energy, like the spirit overcoming any adversity standing in it's way! This is the first track from their American cd: Eastern Energy.
There are actually 13 members in the group, but they always appear & perform as 12.
Filmler
MOVIES:
I love Bruce Lee's movies, he's my favorate martial arts actor. His films have the spirit that no other martial artist or actor for that matter has been able to duplicate. It's hard to explain, but when you watch his fight scenes, his actions are an honest expression of his philosophy. His fight scenes are true art in the sense that they're not just there for the wow-factor. The captivating choreography had meaning, and taught a few lessons to those observant enough to pick them up.
Bruce Lee had expressed how he'd want to make what he called "multi-level films," where you could just watch the surface story if you wanted, or you could look deeper into it if you choose. He did just that, at least with his later films where he had more control. So he's my favorate because he was a real artist when it came to film making.
Just to give you a general idea of what kind of movies I'm into, I'll name a few off the top of my head. Too many to list them all! In no particular order...

HEROES:
Anyone who represents truth, and makes a difference for the better is a hero. Anyone I have pictured below are people who influence and inspire me in some way.
Harmonie
This person always bring happiness to my heart, and I think that's enough to save anyone ^_^
Bruce Lee
Since I was 16, this martial artist, philosopher, & actor has been a source of motivation in my personal goals as a martial artist, and as a human being in general. More than that though, he's been a helpful guide in my quest towards honestly expressing myself. The truth he represents, and the struggles he had to overcome has made him a legendary icon. A status well deserved.
Himura Kenshin
Himura Kenshin, a wondering samurai, is a character from the anime & manga series called, Rurouni Kenshin. Yes, a fictional character, but I put him on my heroes list for several reasons. For one, it's his awareness of the value of life. In most shows, you see the hero killing off the bad guys without much second thought. Kenshin is different. Kenshin, no matter how evil the villian he fights may seem, never takes the life of his adversaries. Kenshin would rather help his opponents see the light, the error of their ways, and uses a reverse-blade sword to prevent himself from killing. A lot of people see this as his weakness, but I think it's his strength. As a former man-slayer during the late 19th century, while trying to help create a more peaceful future for Japan, he realized the value of human life after a tragic event took place at his own hands. This is the event that gave him the cross-shaped scar on his left cheek. To atone for his past, he took an oath - To protect the innocent, and never kill again! He then became a wonderer, creating a better world without killing. He now holds all life sacred. If I were as skilled in the martial arts as he is with a sword, then I would want to protect the innocent as he does. I also admire his personality. He has a strong will, yet's he's very compassionate and gentle. Though highly skilled with a sword, he's not so good with little everyday things. ^_^x He deeply cares for his friends, and even has a way of turning deadly enemies into friends most of the time. He's just awesome! He's on my heroes list because I strive to be like Kenshin, that I do!
Hakkımda: As expressive as you may find me to be here, in person I am very quiet and reserved. My personality is very peaceful and reflective. I'm very patient in most cases, very easy-going. My friends consider me to be compassionate, gentle, and easy to talk to. I enjoy the company of good people, but also treasure my time alone. My personal philosophy in life is the cultivation of balance in all things.
The martial arts play a huge part in my life. To me, martial arts is another word for life. Martial arts is not merely about self-defense, or something I do just for fun. For me, it's much deeper. Martial arts is a way of life, a philosophy of self-betterment, self-knowledge, and honest self-expression. It's something I enjoy, but also something I take seriously. Every little thing I do in life relates to my path in the martial arts. It's not a path toward hurting others, but one of the avenues in which life opens it's secrets to us. It's simply taking everything you are, and actualizing your ultimate and true potential as a human being. Defeat does not exist for the true martial artist, for true victory comes from within. Expressing myself through martial arts, I feel complete and fulfilled.
I'm very influenced by eastern philosophy, and if you're familiar with it yourself then you'll probably recognize the influences in my writings. Writing is another love of mine. I love having time to myself because it allows me to hear my own thoughts, and sense my own spirit. I find I have so much I want to say, and since I'm not very talkitive in person it's gotta come out somewhere! Writing is an excellent vehicle for that.
A few other general tidbits about myself... I'm half asian (of Korean decent), half caucasian. I'm presently studying Yoshukai Karate under the World Yoshukai Karate Kobudo Organization (http://www.wykko.com), but I'm interested in all kinds of martial art styles. I enjoy the simple things in life, and take one day at a time. I'm very optimistic, positive, and love life!
Words limit and complicate reality, which is simple and boundless. No one's mouth is big enough to utter the whole thing. It takes more than a simple "About Me" piece to know someone. Even with blogs and such, words stand still while true understanding is a process, not a conclusion! Therefore, it's wise to remain open and unconclusive in observation in order to be within the process of cultivated understanding.
However, if you're curious about what's going on in my life and within myself, I'll be using my blog in the future to rant philosophically about this and that. Feel free to read & subscribe to the blog, and respond with your own comments & thoughts! This will allow me to learn from you as well! Oh, and if you leave a blog comment be sure to check back! I reply to all blog comments!
Thanks for reading and checking out my profile! You're welcome to come again anytime! ^_^
Take care!

Casting for the live action film Avatar The Last Airbender has been revealed. All asian and inuit characters so far are being played by caucasian actors. This film would have been an incredible step foward in depicting it's asian and inuit influences in a light that is universal for all audiences. It's unfortunate that it's been degraded to Hollywood's racial standard due to fear of not drawing in a bankable audience. Such a lack of faith in the film's epic story from the studio shows an ignorance that should have been wiped out a long time ago. Please watch the video below to find out what you can do about it.

In my humble opinion, I think the kid in the video below would've made a great Aang!

Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee's Way of the Intercepting Fist). The Chinese characters surrounding the YinYang translate as, "Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation." A philosophy I strive to apply in my own life. Philosopher Alan Watts once said, "A bird in flight pays no attention to the lines of East and West," because these lines, like any other boundries, do not exist. Therefore, Bruce Lee's way of Jeet Kune Do is not a set style, but his personal expression of The Way. "It's just a name" he said, "please don't fuss over it."
The style I currently study:
Liu Kang, shaolin champion of Mortal Kombat! WATAAAAAH!!!!
Kung Lao, shaolin monk from Mortal Kombat, demonstrates a proper side kick.
Himura Kenshin, protecting the innocent using his reverse blade sword and the Hiten Mitsurugi Style of swordsmanship. To atone for his past, he has taken an oath to protect the innocent and never kill again.
Rurouni Kenshin - Wandering Samurai
"I'm nothing but a wonderer. I'm merely a wondering swordsman, that I am!" ^_^x
Kimle tanışmak isterim: WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET:
Martial Artists, Philosophers, Thinkers, Writers, Poets, Artists of All Kinds, Good People, ect... Just about anyone I can learn something from, or share something with. If you're a good person, I'll accept your add. ^_^
I'm always open to making new friends, and I'm pretty open about who I accept. So don't be shy about sending a friend request. ^_^ I love hearing from people of all walks of life. However, I view all profiles before accepting an add. When I am busy I tend to leave friend requests hanging for a while because I haven't had time to view them. I apologize ahead of time if this is the case. If I'm taking too long to accept your request then please, just send a message my way and introduce yourself. ^_^ A message will get my attention much sooner than a request alone. I sometimes lose track of pending requests, and a friend request only lasts for a month before myspace automatically deletes them from your request box. So if I have not accepted your request within a month and am no longer in your sent requests box then please just send another request my way. And to anyone out there who's request I somehow missed I'm really sorry. Message me and send again please! Thanks!
To anyone who adds me, I will try to send a comment soon after to thank you. I sometimes lose track of newly added friends though, so if I don't comment then just send me one and I'll reply to it. ;)
If you're on my friends list, don't be shy! Please post whenever you want to say hello or comment about something! Be as random as you like! ^_^ Just don't over do it and flood me either, alright? Thanks, I appreciate it!
One more thing, please don't post anything inappropriate. I'd like to keep my page clean and suitable for everyone. Promotion is perfectly fine, as long as it isn't spam. Pictures, videos, I love them all, don't hesitate to share. I rarely delete comments, but anything offensive will be deleted.
If you have AIM, my screename is Wayfarer18. Feel free to IM me if you ever see me online! However, I rarely use it publicly these days. It's usually blocked to everyone except my girlfriend, close friends, and family. So if you really want to chat on AIM just send me a message or comment and let me know! I'll try my best to make time. But occasionally I'll randomly unblock myself, so if you spot me feel free to IM me. ^_^
Be good everyone!

"To me, ultimately, martial arts means honestly expressing yourself... Now it is very difficult to do... I mean it is easy for me to put on a show and be cocky, and be flooded with a cocky feeling and feel like pretty cool and all that... or I can show you all kinds of phoney things, and be blinded by it, or I can show you some really fancy movement... but to express one's self honestly, not lying to one's self, and express myself to you honestly... now that, my friend, is very hard to do..."
--Bruce Lee
"One thing I have learned is to always be yourself. To express yourself, to have faith in yourself. Never go out and find a successful personality and duplicate them. That seems to be the prevailent thing happening... people always copying mannerisms... but they never start from the very root of their being and ask, 'how can I be me?'"
--Bruce Lee
"Self-actualization is the important thing. And my personal message to people is that I hope they will go toward self-actualization rather than self-image actualization. I hope they will search within themselves for honest self-expression."
--Bruce Lee
