Critics have been universal in their praise for Jason’s brand new solo album My Name is Schapelle as a beautifully crafted record full of passionate tunes and flavoured with Jason’s intensely soulful take on the world. Top 5 artist Jason Stan has been described as a song writer well beyond his years. With a voice constantly mistaken for Richard Marx, Jason’s loyal fan base of followers continues to grow throughout the countries of Singapore and Hong Kong and as recently as late 2006 his sales have again stretched to the countries of Canada, England, New Zealand, America and Australia.
Born September 7 in Australia, Stan first expressed an interest in show business at the tender age of four. He was discovered by program manager Bruce Neels from one of Australia's largest radio stations 7LA in 1996. Neels had been handed a copy of Jason's debut single My Girl and liked what he heard enough to begin airing the song on the national radio station. Neels' efforts would later lead to the Herald Sun reporting on Jason's first ever Top 5 single My Girl and the consequent release of his debut album No Apologies.
In December of 2005, Jason went ahead to sign a distribution deal with Paramount Music. It marked the relase of My Name Is Schapelle as a single that went ahead to sell all over the world and was officially endorsed by Schapelle Corby and her family. In December of 2007, Jason's Brand New album My Name Is Schapelle gets it realease and is currently Jason's latest album release.
Feature film wise, you may recognise Jason as the face of serial killer Damien Belcroft in the offshore thriller Serial. He has also appeared in Mr Nice Guy staring Jackie Chan and the ever popular Hotel De Love staring Saffron Burrows and Aiden Young. Jason is currently the face of the new Bonnie Babes Foundation national TV commercial.
TV credits include recurring roles on Neighbours, Home & Away, Blue Heelers, Halifax FP and White Collar Blue. Other TV appearances include Tasmania Today, Good Morning Australia, The Early Bird Show and Hey Hey It's Saturday.
Jason has also been the major act for the corporate functions of the AFL's Melbourne Football Club, Adelaide Football Club, Coca Cola Amatil Australia, Mc Kinsey & Company, ANZ Australia and Loreal Australia just to name a few. He is the voice of the Australia wide Government Lodge a Job campaign and the Royal Launceston Show as well as being the writer and producer for each of their colaborating jingles.
