I have spent over a decade living/sleeping/eating/etc. in recording studios... Started (like many) as a client... then assistant engineer, house engineer...head engineer of a few... I have had the pleasure of working with great artists such as Sarah Slean, The Canadian Brass (recorded their 'High Society' CD which made No.3 on the BillBoard Classical Charts), David Braid/Matt Brubeck (recorded/mixed their 'Twotet/Deuxtet' CD - nominated for Best Traditional Jazz Album at the 2008 Junos), Tanya Kalmanovitch, and many more. I am very grateful to have learned so much by working with so many great talents. You are welcome to check out my 'online reel'
Now expanding into new directions, with music always first and foremost... Still working on the ol' 'studio tan', and always carrying my bag of tricks (and ears) with me wherever I go... Now more useful than ever... ;+)
The purpose of this page is to post some tracks of my own that I've been working on between projects for several years (more to come soon), and some newer pieces that I've been experimenting with live, in collaboration with 'live projections' (check out the vlog excerpts below). I guess you could say that my musical background is primarily rooted in jazz because of the teachers I have always sought out, and because that is how I 'process' any music I'm working with... On the other hand, though...I've really only played in (or 'tracked with') rock bands... Over the last seven years, my knowledge of North Indian classical music has grown, and since I first began studying this music via the harmonium with Ustad Sohail Rana, I am looking at things very differently....
No prob. Props for the add. At least you have a life. My only excuse? I'm finding hard to pry myself out of the twitter vortex lately. Twitanon here I come. :)
