Jason Thomas Group

Jason Thomas is a 26 year old musician from Trail, BC who has been playing guitar and singing since the astonishing age of 9. Unlike many other children at that age childhood activities such as hockey, soccer, baseball, and video games were not his focus. After picking up the guitar and starting to sing he realized how much he enjoyed doing it. He then began listening to the radio and cd's learning as many songs as he could to play for family and friends. It wasnt until a few years of practicing before he began to perform at: local events, fundraisers , attending local jam sessions at local bars (accomanied by an adult of course as he was only 16). He found going to jam sessions helped him meet other musicians. He started playing with local groups in the area and it became a weekend hobby for his youth. He did not stop at pickin' and singin' he later began picking up different instruments such as : harmonica, bass guitar, piano, mandolin and the pedal steel guitar. In the middle of absorbing all he could from all these instruements he found he enjoyed writing his own compositions. Just recently he has been writing and co writing with others building up his own catalogue of songs in styles such as Rock/Country/Blues and Pop. Jason has had the opportunity to open shows for Sawyer Brown, Wide Mouth Mason, Jym Byrnes, and was an opening act for country duo Sugarland at the 2008 Merrit mountain Music Festival. He also performed at Merritt again in 2009 alongside such stars as Kenny Chesney and Steve Miller Band. Currently he is promoting his country/rock DEBUT CD titled Git'R Done and writing with Tonnie Stewart and is looking for opportunities to pitch songs to other artists for their own projects .. ..
