Jason Thomas is a 29-year old singer/songwriter from State College, PA whose expressive vocals and poignant songwriting has drawn comparisons to Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews, Live, and Howie Day. Beginning as a smalltown coffeehouse opening act in 1997, Jason has risen steadily through the ranks of the Central Pennsylvania music scene to become one of the region's most respected young performers, with features in the The Centre Daily Times' Weekender and Blue Weekly, Penn State's Daily Collegian and the Pennsylvania Musician magazine, as well as opening for acclaimed area musicians Eric Himan, Lowjack, and Rhyne McCormick. With over 100 paid performances in 2008, Jason has played at some of the top venues in the region, including weekly gigs at The Cellblock in Williamsport and Bar Bleu in State College, as well as regular appearances at The Atherton Hotel and The Deli in State College and Pizza City in Lock Haven. His live show consists of his original music, as well as a cover song repertoire of nearly 250 songs from the likes of The Beatles, Elvis Presley, U2, Dave Matthews, Prince, Matchbox 20, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, and many more. In 2005, Jason released his debut album, Leave the Bliss Behind, produced by Mike Bratt and featuring former 10,000 Maniacs drummer Jim Foti. The song, "Falling For You," has received airplay on WRLC FM in Williamsport, while several other songs have also been featured on WMRF FM in Lewistown. Jason expects to perform nearly 100 shows in 2009 and plans to release a new album in 2010. You can book Jason for your venue or event by emailing him at jthomas172@gmail.com
