About me:

This is the official Jason Auld Fan site, atleast, it will be when I get some fans, but I'm guessing that's why you're here. Since being established in 1988, life was little more than a way to pass time, until I found Extreme Unicycling, or as it was called when I started at 14, Unicycling. It began as a cheap party trick and has grown into a livelihood and much more. Since I began, "Extreme" unicycling has taken on many forms, Mountain Unicycling, which does what it says on the tin, Trials, similar to trials biking obstacles negotiated using big hops, gapping and riding skinnies and Street, the discipline I am a pupil of, which is often compared to skating/BMXing on one wheel. Tricks such as spins, twists and even flips and performed on and off obstacles in an urban environment. I was the first in the UK to land 540 and 720 spins, Hick Double crankflip and Tre crankflip. In terms of the flips, I am looking to facilities that will allow me to practise a frontflip on my unicycle. It has already been landed once so I know it's possible. If you have a foam pit or other suitabe gymnastic environments, please get in touch. In 2007, I finished 3rd in the first British Street Competition. The following year, I raised my game and I am the current UK Street Champion. With the next British Championships coming in April,a mere 6 months after winning the title, the pressure is on to be the first rider to retain the trophy, what pressure? Although I have missed out on many international competitions in recent years, I will be going to the World Championships in New Zealand. Will I come first? With extensive training, I hope so, but if I take my eye off the ball, I'll be crying into my 12 hour rehydrated airline food. At the moment, I make all of my money (what money?) from demonstrations. Most of my work is through the Elite Extreme Sports display team, Transgression (www.transgressionshow.co.uk). Previous work includes, The Rat Race Urban Adventure Series, Men's Health Survival of the Fittest and a 30 night Edinburgh Fringe Festival show, imaginitively titled "Transgression". Throughout this year, keep your mum's under lock and key, as I will be appearing on TV for the first time. I applied for Britain's Got Talent, hoping to get some exposure and unforunately selling myself very short. I had a laugh, if nothing else, but I hope it hasn't done more harm than good. I have also been invited to do some filming for Guiness World Records: Smashed, where I will be attempted to break some current unicycling records and perhaps set my own. Keep an eye out.
