A BRIEF UPDATE AND ANOUNCEMENT:
NEW SONGS FOR THE LONG AWAITED AND UPCOMING JWS PROJECT ALBUM ARE HERE ON THE SITE! BUT ALMOST WERE WIPED OUT OF EXISTENCE IN A FIRE THAT OCCURRED IN THE HOME OF JASON AND HIS FAMILY ON MAY 29TH. A TEST MASTER WAS CREATED THE DAY BEFORE THE FIRE, AND IS THE ONLY SURVIVING COPY OF THE NEWLY RECORDED MATERIAL.
BUT MUSIC CAN EASILY BE REPLACED, FAMILY CANNOT, SO I JUST WANT TO SEND A SHOUT OUT TO MY NEPHEW NOAH COCHRAN FOR WAKING ME UP WHEN HE DID, CAUSE IT WAS'NT THIRTY SECONDS LATER THAT THE FIRE CAME THRU MY BEDROOM. TO PUT IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE I WOULD NOT BE HERE TODAY, I LOVE YOU NEPHEW AND AM SO THANKFUL YOU WERE THERE TO WAKE ME UP. NOBODY WAS HURT OR LOST IN THAT FIRE, AND I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THAT.
PEACE AND RESPECT....
JASON WAYNE SNELL
Founding member of the band Native Thunder, Jason Wayne Snell is a multi-talented guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer and arranger of his own material. He is a self-taught virtuoso who has been playing guitar since he was 13, while learning to play a few other instruments along the way including: bass guitar, harmonica, piano, drums, saxophone, and others. Jason has now ventured out on his own with a solo CD entitled "The JWS Project" with an official release date this May of 2006. This CD features Jason playing all the instruments, singing lead vocals, and working on all the recording and arranging himself in his home studio. Not completely alone in this effort, "The JWS Project" was mastered by the accomplished, 2005 Grammy Award winning producer Tony Palmer, President of Oyate Music.
"The JWS Project"
"The JWS Project" CD is a departure from what NT fans are used to hearing from Jason, as it has much more of a Blues influence, with the exception of the last song...a "true rocker." Included is the first single and crowd favorite "Little Native Lady," along with other surprises such as guest vocals by John Robert Nofire, a long time friend of Jason's on the second single "My Heart's Front Door."
Backing Up
Jason also enjoys performing as a back up and session guitarist. He has worked with artists such as Star Nayea, Julian B., Carey Morin of the Atoll, and shared the stage with bands such as Stones of Red.
