About me: I was born in Stamford, Connecticut in 1960. I was studying film and video at Hampshire College when I took some time off to live in Berkeley, California. It was at this time that I began to experience the roots of my artistic direction. I yearned to experience and create a form of expression far more primal than I felt I was able to create with film or video. I returned to Hampshire and finished my studies in Oil Painting. My paintings from this period were dark and shadowy expressionist works. I moved to Bridgton, Maine in 1984 and lived in a country farmhouse for eleven years. My work still was formed with expressionist strokes but in this period brighter colors replaced much of the darkness of my earlier works. In 1995 I moved to Portland, Maine. I became a father to my lovely daughter Kasmira and became very focused on parenting and my job with Starbucks. Starting in 2004, I have returned to being very active in the studio. While my newest work still has expressionism as it roots it is created in a much simpler, minimalist style with a pop sensibility to it. I have been challenged and inspired by Kasmira who at a very young age has shown incredible talent as a painter. Our love for country living has won out once again and we have recently moved to an apartment on a beautiful farm in Bryant Pond, Maine, close to Sunday River and Mt. Abrams ski resorts. We have yet to set up a new studio but look forward to doing so as soon as possible. You can also see Kasmira and my work at www.jasonweinberg.com. If you want to really see our works displayed in a truly impressive way make the effort to come see our gallery in dotsoul. Go to www.dotsoul.net, download the activeworlds browser and go to the park. find Mr. Paint and Kasmira's gallery on the teleport list and check it out. As an artist i find the 3D browser to be a vastly superior method of displaying artwork online.

Who I'd like to meet: the person or people who have the ways and means to help me get more of my art out of my house and into the world.
That is awesome, but I just recently moved back to my parents house, the people we were living with got evicted because they weren't paying their rent, which was unfortunate because we didn't know. But I know I am going up there more this year, I still got my seasons pass!
Yeah, I am working up at the loaf for the season... I haven't been riding in about 2 weeks because I have been working a lot! Either that or on my day off it is too cold and windy and the lifts are usually on wind hold. Ever come to the loaf?
I have completely enjoyed commenting on the iconic works of Mr. Weinberg---you must be so proud--thanks for sharing and I will continue to enjoy those and your works as well------a talented family----hugs-DORIS
