Writing wise, I like to tell stories in a similar vein to Paul Simon, Dar Williams, and Greg Brown. Thematically, I resonate with Judee Sill. But do you know that song "Joy" by Lucinda Williams? That kind of song is my inspiration.

Songwriting is my refuge. Singing is the way I find myself in the world - connected and whole. In 2002, I chanced upon this road. A timid knock and the dam broke. I opened my mouth and my fingers found chords among the strings. The words had been waiting for a long time.
Tucson created a dry and resilient landscape within me. The desert built into my bones the idea that living is only living when extremes are in the balance. Now I survive Minnesota winters. The arts community in the twin cities makes every sweater, every icy road and inch of snow worth it. When spring arrives and sprouts bud from every branch and piece of ground, I am aware of the trees growing inside my own skin. I never knew I could grow strong healthy trees.
My parents and four amazing sisters for the most part are still in Arizona. My most immediate family now is my husband, Kale - the man responsible for my recent name change from Loes to Lepak. I didn't want my marriage to be separate from my music, so we have the same name. Home and family now reside in the same South Minneapolis apartment.
I have so much extended family and friends in the twin cities and all over the country. This is no solo act, believe it. The thing I hope to do through my songs is to encourage people to love more of themselves and more of others, to think with their own thoughts, and to know that they are not alone.
Hey, Im posting new videos today! and if you are in Texas, come on out to Six Flags (san Antonio) Friday where I'll be performing with Drake Bell (of Nickelodeon's Josh and Drake) and Saturday with Drake in Six Flags Dallas. As part of this event, Chelsey Miller (who did the stellar artwork for the CD) will be having an art show that begins at 7:00pm.
