I have to admit
We didn't write these songs...........yes it 's true.
Before you get all critical though I have to tell you that nobody actually wrote these songs, they didn't need to be written as a matter of fact. Confused? Good!
We are Jasper and yes, I am aware that Jasper is some guys name and quite possibly even yours. If you are named Jasper you'll either immediately
l. Like us due to the fact that we have something in common.
2. Dislike us due to the fact that we have something in common( I'm assuming
you're one of those people that had trouble sharing).
3. 98 other random possibilities.
So anyway, Jasper is the band you hear before you...or is it?
l. You could be one of those poor people with dial up Internet which when loading up our Jasper Myspace page, you find yourself reading this before your juke box has even loaded.
2. You could have your speakers turned off, have a hearing disorder or be listening to an alternate music source.
Bring your minds back to the place where I made the comment about us not writing these songs. You see, we (Jasper) just kinda feed off each other, Dave starts strumming away and we'll just stare and listen. Then James starts feeling up his fretless bass and makes it moan in the right places. I'm not sure if that was the best analogy but anyway, moving on. Then Winnie - the guy that hit's stuff starts... hitting stuff. Last of all I join in and start singing something I've never heard before. We never know what's going to come out but if it sounds good we keep if, construct it and polish it.
Our music is at its roots, Improvisation.
In our lives we are met with spontaneous and unexpected twists, none of which are scripted or planned. We all hold memories of surprises and that of random moments like meeting the love of our lives or the times when we first swam in a pool filled with mince, or was that just me.
Why write music when you can have it surprise you.
