Jattao was brought up in an orphanage in a favela on the outskirts of São Paulo in Brazil. This is also one of the foundational topics to the lyrics in her song Abandoned. She arrived to Sweden as a seven year-old together with her younger sister and grew up in a home with a single mom.
The interest for music and singing has always been a big part of her life. Jattao writes her own lyrics and always try to get a personal and direct perspective on the topics she covers in her songs. For her, it is very important that people can relate to the songs and find strength for their own lives. This comes true both in her brilliant social critisism as well as in the songs aimed at the times when you only want to relax or celebrate.
Jattao is a fabulous live performer and has said herself that one of the best things with making music is getting direct response from the audience. She has performed on the Malmoe-festival (the third largest city in Sweden) in 2006 together with the group Poetones and several times at the legendary Kaffé 44 in Stockholm, and recently the Midsummer Latino-festival, as well as on many other venues and occasions, either as a solo artist or together with Insurrectional Entertainment.
